🚨 FMCSA Grants Hours of Service Waiver for 40 States Due to Winter Weather Conditions 🚛❄️

The waiver provides hours of service flexibility for certain drivers. Check the comments for the full waiver and to see if you’re affected.

Stay safe out there, drivers, and remember:

🌨️🛞 Check tires, brakes, lights, and wipers before rolling.
🧤❄️ Clear your vehicle of ice and snow and keep an emergency kit on hand.
🧊🐢 Slow down and increase following distance.
🌫️⚠️ Stay alert for black ice, whiteout conditions, and sudden stops.
🏁➡️ Know when to pull over—getting there safely is always the priority.

I do not believe it is possible to adequately express our gratitude and appreciation for our drivers. These individuals are instrumental in our daily operations, making immense sacrifices in terms of family time, personal time, and mental well-being for the sake of their job. As we reflect on the memories of 2025, we offer our sincerest praise and gratitude to God for ensuring the safety of each and every one of them on a daily basis. Despite having two trucks available for new recruits, we consider ourselves fortunate. The mechanical division of J&S experienced further growth this year, and we extend our gratitude to our four sons for their diligent efforts. We also thank each of our valued customers who placed their trust in us; we are deeply grateful. God Bless and Happy New Year!

U-24 is now shutdown between Colby and Hoxie due to heavy blowing dust and extremely low visibility. I will advise when it's open again.

We are shutting I-70 down between Colby and Goodland both directions due to very high winds and blowing dust. KDOT will check conditions later and reassess. I will post when it's back open!

K-383 will be shutdown between U-36 and the Nebraska state line due to a crash and extremely low visibility from dense fog. If you're traveling today and you encounter fog, please use your headlights!
