Girls’ Mental Health Day in Eureka Springs 💜

Today we took a girls’ mental health day to beautiful Eureka Springs. Sometimes the best therapy is a change of scenery, good conversation, a little laughter, and wandering through streets full of history and charm. As always, the free-spirited vibe, unique shops, winding streets, and welcoming atmosphere made it the perfect place to recharge.

Fun facts about Eureka Springs:
✨ The entire downtown area is listed on the National Register of Historic Places.
✨ The city was founded around natural springs that were believed to have healing powers.
✨ There are no traffic lights in the historic downtown district.
✨ The streets follow the natural curves of the Ozark hills, which is why they twist and turn in unexpected ways.
✨ More than 60 natural springs can be found throughout the area.
✨ It’s often called one of the most unique and artistic towns in Arkansas, with local artists, musicians, and creators around every corner.

Today wasn’t about checking things off a to-do list. It was about slowing down, making memories, and filling our cups so we can keep showing up for the people we love. Sometimes self-care looks like a quiet day at home, and sometimes it looks like a road trip with your girls to a town that marches to the beat of its own drum.

💜 Mental health matters. Good friends help. And a little adventure never hurts.

🐰 The Hardest Working Employees in Eureka Springs 🐰

One of my favorite stops in Eureka Springs is visiting the famous “Working Bunnies.” These adorable rescued rabbits actually help customers at checkout by handing out receipts, change, credit cards, pens, and even shopping bags. Yes, you read that right — working rabbits! 🐇💼

The tradition has been going on for over 20 years, and the bunnies are rescue rabbits that serve as ambassadors for rabbit adoption and education. They spend their days bringing smiles to visitors from all over the country and proving that customer service can be extra fluffy.

Of all the quirky, unique things that make Eureka Springs special, the Working Bunnies might just be my favorite. Where else can you go shopping and have a bunny hand you your receipt? Sometimes the best travel memories come from the unexpected moments that make you stop, smile, and say, “Only in Eureka Springs.” 💜🐰✨

One more flight ✈️ and we’ll be home… well, almost. Still a 45-minute drive, but back in our home state and our own car feels like a win.

This trip has been such a gift. Beautiful views, unforgettable moments, and some really good conversations along the way.

Next up… I think our next travel adventure is in July. Nothing quite as big as this one, but honestly, all travel counts as amazing in my book. This time we’re planning to take the two teens still at home with us (we’ve been blessed to raise 9 kids total ❤️). The younger ones have been very clear about one destination—Universal Studios—so that’s officially on the list.

There may also be some pop-up local-ish travel in between, of course… because I don’t really stay still. Even with multiple disabilities, I truly believe we get a choice in our attitude. We can make excuses, or we can make moves.

I do sometimes wish I could’ve given more travel experiences to all my children as they were growing up. But I’m grateful for every season we’ve had—the chaos, the busy years, and the slower ones too. Each one has held its own kind of beauty.

For now, heading home with a full heart. ✈️

Carnival has a new Port Valet system and we are giving it a try today! ✈️🧳

If your flight leaves after 11:30 AM, you may be able to take advantage of this service. And honestly… who really wants to drag luggage from the cruise port to the airport after a cruise? 😅

Here’s how it works:
• Fill out your flight and luggage information while onboard
• Carnival checks you in for your flight and prints your luggage tags
• Put your checked luggage outside your room starting at 8:30 PM the night before disembarkation
• They valet your bags straight to the airport and onto your flight ✈️

This is for checked bags only.

Bonus: You do NOT need to do digital disembarkation if you choose this option.

Now let’s test this out and see how smooth this process really is 👀

Standing tall and full of stories. 🦅🐻✨

One of my favorite things about exploring Alaska has been seeing the incredible Native totem art throughout the ports. Every carving tells a story through animals, family history, legends, and traditions passed down for generations. The detail and craftsmanship are absolutely amazing in person.

The eagle often represents strength and wisdom, while bears symbolize protection and courage. Totem poles are especially important in Southeast Alaska among the Tlingit, Haida, and Tsimshian peoples.

Travel is so much more than seeing beautiful places… it’s learning the stories and cultures that make them meaningful. ❤️ Alaska continues to leave me in awe.

Well shipmates, Mother Nature had other plans for us. 🌊🌬️

The Captain just announced we will not be making it to Victoria due to 16 foot swells and winds up to 70 knots. Safety always comes first, and I’m grateful for a crew that takes those conditions seriously.

The sea has definitely been showing her power on this journey. For now, it’s time to hang on, enjoy the ride, and make the most of one more day at sea. ⚓️

Sometimes travel reminds us that the adventure isn’t always the destination… sometimes it’s surviving the waves along the way.

As we spend this Memorial Day traveling beautiful coastlines and exploring new places, today is also a reminder that our freedom to wander came at a price paid by many who never made it home. 🇺🇸⚓

From the mountains of Alaska to the waters sailing toward Canada, today we pause in gratitude for the brave men and women who sacrificed everything for our country.

May we honor them not only with remembrance, but by truly appreciating the moments, views, laughter, adventures, and loved ones we are blessed to experience because of their sacrifice. ❤️🤍💙

Wishing everyone a meaningful and reflective Memorial Day from somewhere at sea.

Somewhere between Ketchikan and Victoria, the ocean decided to remind us who’s really in charge. 🌊😅

Since leaving Ketchikan, we’ve been experiencing some of the roughest seas I’ve personally ever sailed through — all night long and still continuing currently. The sounds of things rolling, rattling, and occasionally crashing around the ship definitely have passengers a little on edge.

I think this officially holds my personal record for the longest stretch of rough seas I’ve experienced by hours. Needless to say, sleep has been minimal and walking has become its own adventure.

Thankfully the crew has been amazing through it all, and we are slowly making our way toward Victoria where we aren’t scheduled to arrive until 8 PM this evening. Until then… it’s hold on, stay steady, and let the ship do what she was built to do. ⚓🌊

Here’s hoping calmer waters — and stable floors — are ahead soon.

Hello from Ketchikan — Alaska’s famous “First City” because it’s the first major stop for many cruise ships entering Alaska from the Inside Passage.

Fun facts about Ketchikan:
• Ketchikan is known as the Salmon Capital of the World
• The city gets around 13 feet of rain each year, making it part of a temperate rainforest
• It is home to one of the world’s largest collections of standing totem poles
• Bald eagles are everywhere here thanks to the massive salmon population
• Creek Street, the famous boardwalk area, was once a red-light district built on stilts over the water
• The surrounding Tongass National Forest is the largest national forest in the United States

Today in Juneau was packed with wildlife, waterfalls, glacier views, and some delicious Alaskan food.

We spent the day whale watching and taking in every bit of nature around us. Seeing humpback whales surface in the wild is something that never gets old. We also spotted Steller sea lions lounging around, bald eagles soaring overhead, beautiful waterfalls, and the stunning Mendenhall Glacier.

Fun facts:
• Humpback whales can grow up to 60 feet long and weigh around 40 tons
• Steller sea lions are the largest sea lions in the world
• Bald eagles can have a wingspan of over 7 feet
• Mendenhall Glacier is about 13 miles long and is part of the massive Juneau Icefield
• Juneau is one of the only U.S. state capitals you cannot drive to — it’s only accessible by boat or plane

We wrapped up the day with a fresh salmon bake and a little downtown shopping before heading back. Alaska continues to feel like stepping into a nature documentary around every corner.
