π Exciting news! Voters have approved Measure 26-243, supporting flood safety in northern Multnomah County!
This bond measure allows the Urban Flood Safety & Water Quality District to issue up to $150 million in bonds to upgrade and improve our century-old flood safety infrastructure along the Columbia River. This also unlocks an additional $100 million in federal matching funds!
The upgrades include levee improvements, pump stations, and flood walls, which will ultimately make our region more resilient to extreme weather and flooding. This means greater protection for our community and key assets like the Portland International Airport and our drinking water supply.
A big thank you to our board, staff, community members, and partners for your support and collaboration. Weβll keep you updated on the progress of these vital projects. Together, weβre building a safer, more resilient future! π§πͺ
