Jerre Petersen

Jerre Petersen I live and work in Portland, Oregon. I was married for 21 years and have two beautiful daughters, Audrey and Cherie. Audrey is in Heaven. Jerre Petersen

I am a business owner, an award winning author, an avid photographer and a man blessed with the ability to work with his hands. I have remodeled my own office building, built a collection of vintage motorcycles, and even restored a vintage 1965 Ford truck from the ground up completely on my own! Cherie is a wonderful, intelligent, beautiful young woman and she and I are best friends. Audrey Briann

e became ill when she was in the 3rd grade. She was diagnosed with an incurable inoperable brain tumor March 7th of 2000. 27 days later on, April 5th, Audrey died. A sadness and dark cloud fell over my family, and many of our wonderful friends came to our side to help. Julie, my ex-wife, and I have remained friends, as well. Her boyfriend Jeff is a loving father himself and treats our Cherie with the patience and respect she deserves. The book I wrote, photographed and self published in 2003, "Heartworks; A Father's Grief" has become an award winning project. In composing and photographing my feelings for the book, I learned to open myself up to many of the strange and wonderful things that happen around us every day. In the years since Audrey passed, I have learned to find comfort in these small miracles.

Meet Alice. Alice is my miracle kid. Alice was diagnosed with brain cancer in 2001. I met Alice the year after my own daughter died of brain cancer. Alice went to camp ukandu with my daughter Cherie. A camp fir kids with cancer and siblings that have had a family member die if cancer. Alice has been through many surgeries. Chemo. Radiation and on February 14 2006 my miracle kid was declared in remission. Just this past valentine day marked 7 years of cancer free for Alice. She attends Pacific university in Forrest grove Oregon. She lives in a dorm and is hundreds of miles away from her mom and dad. I'm posting this for anyone with doubts that miracles may not happen. They do happen and Alice is proof of that. The next miracle I'm adding to my list will be Jessica Dey. Thank all of my friends for the continued prayers for Jessica and her family. Urloved Jerre
