What a weekend providing Transportation for Billy Strings Ionia Freak Fair ❤️
Three days of nonstop shuttling 10:30am-3am for some of the kindest, respectful, most fun, easy-going campers you could ever meet! Soooo many of you from all over the USA 🇺🇸 and Canada…3000😳?
I’m extremely proud of our team of nine staff and drivers who worked together like a well-oiled machine, keeping everyone safe with ZERO incidents! 🙌
Months of planning went into this weekend. You anticipate a hiccup but when and the severity? Ours was Friday. We were keeping up with the crowd till around 4:30PM, a couple hundred campers decided it was time to head to the concert — all at once! 🤯 We were doing some serious number crunching with Billy to take the stage about 6ish.
I saw a missed call from Bill, another local shuttling for Billy’s fans.
“You Done?”
“Nope, we still have 150+.”
His response: “Were done, I can be there in 10 with two buses”
Discussion with owners, PE team and Bill again and Operation Save Lisa’s Ass was a GO! 😂🙌
The campers cheered when I announced the buses were coming — and even louder when they arrived! We thanked them for their patience over and over. Everyone was kind and understanding and thanked us for shuttling for them. Everyone made it with plenty of time before Billy took the stage. Happy tears may or may not have happened. 🥹❤️ Thank you Bill 😊
Saturday morning, we expanded the fleet and ROCKED IT! No one waited more than 15 minutes for a ride. We still need to work on expantion for after concert rush 🤪
So proud of our team for adapting, helping problem-solve, making it happen and dedicated to drive till all lost sheep are found and back to camp. And picking up Uber, Lyft and other charters stranded clients, getting them home to Ionia, East Lansing & Grand Ledge til 3:30am🥰

A HUGE THANK YOU to Camping On the Grand - Ionia Scott & Toni for this incredible opportunity, and to all the campers for trusting Portland Express to get you to the concert and back. Thank you to MI Smiles Dental Ionia for use of their parking lot as our designated drop off & pickup. It was ideal for the campers to walk 1block and safe for shuttles to turn around in.
We had so much FUN, truly the BEST time shuttling. 🤩🚐 We are ready for the next concert / event and for sure want to camp with you all next time😁☮️❤️
