Trail Cleanup Day

Since steady rain is on the forecast for today, Bike Stop Dunes will be closed for rentals. Instead, we're throwing on our rain gear and heading out to clear storm debris this morning!

Yesterday, we cleared the section from Cowles Bog, across Dunes Hwy, up to the downed tree behind the National Park Headquarters. Today, we're tackling the Porter Brickyard Trail in the Chellberg Farm / Bailly Homestead area, working the section from Howe Road toward Park HQ.

(Note: The large downed tree behind Park HQ will require chainsaws and will be handled by the National Park Service.)

Want to lend a hand? Grab your rain gear, bring a rake, and come join us on the trail today! We should be out there around 9:00 a.m.

Teamed up with a new friend, Michelle, to do a little post-storm cleanup on the Dunes Kankakee Trail!

The entire trail is now clear and ready for your next ride. Hoping to do some more trail cleanup tomorrow afternoon on the Porter Brickyard Trail. Just trying to play our part and help get things back to normal for everyone out on two wheels!

Yesterday, thousands of visitors spent countless hours stuck in bumper-to-bumper traffic trying to get into the beaches around the Indiana Dunes. Many were turned away entirely because the parking lots were completely full.
