Working after 5 on a Wednesday in the shipyard in mid October. So quiet…. I think everybody must have been watching the baseball game. Beautiful light/sunset. Tap of the corking mallet. Felt like I had the shipyard to myself. Stoked to be working on the “Chief Kwina” for a minute. Informal buyers survey, and some topside corking for this wonderful boat. She’s always been one of my favorites💙. More info/history to come on this special vessel.

Yesterday was a pretty special day. Spent the first part of the day replacing a shrink wrap roof for a friend on Marrowstone Island. Then back to the yard to meet up with our favorite Naval Architect and surf buddy Tim Nolan. We looked at an upcoming project, then went for a ride in Tim’s newly repowered (electric propulsion) “Canvas Back”. On our journey we came upon my old boat Ziska. Then went out on the bay where we were fortunate enough to see the freshly launched “Latifa” out for a shakedown sail. She is absolutely beautiful. Designed by William Fife III, and built in 1936. Days and moments like this make me feel very lucky 🍀, and fortunate to live here.
