Our JTOC Route (Forks to Amanda Park) is getting three new cutaway buses, because the current three JTOC vehicles have reached their useful life benchmark.

The first has been cleared for service and arrived at our Forks bus barn last week. The other two are getting their finishing touches and completing inspections. These new cutaways have the newest Q-Straint system for mobility devices, making it more efficient and safer for Operators and passengers.

Jefferson Transit’s Four Corners Park and Ride is undergoing concrete repair work for the next two weeks. The bus loop at Four Corners will not be serviceable (starting tomorrow 10/21/26); a temporary bus stop will be located at the marked crosswalk just north of the entrance to the bus loop. You can follow the sidewalk around to the temporary bus stop at the cross walk. In service busses will be turning around in the bus yard and will service the temporary bus stop at the crosswalk as they exit the yard.


This concrete repair project will create minor delays in JTA service over the next two weeks; please use caution while driving past the work zones when using the Park and Ride and thank you in advance for your patience.

Amy and Kelly took a Forks Fieldtrip on Friday to hang up posters in the shelters showing the JTOC route deviations for the Hoh River Bridge closures. They took a cool Twilight photo at the Forks Visitors Center, and stopped at Kalaloch for a break and some beautiful scenery.

HWY 101 Closures will affect JTOC route. JTA will not be able to provide service south of the Hoh River Bridge during the three planned six-day closures.

Riders who need to travel to or from the south side of Oxbow Campground during the full closures should make alternative arrangements, such as staying with friends or family. JTA buses will not provide service between the south side of Oxbow Campground and Amanda Park during the closures.

As an alternative, riders may travel around the Hood Canal and connect with Grays Harbor Transit for service to Amanda Park.

We encourage riders who may be affected to plan their travel arrangements in advance.

ATTENTION, OLYMPIC PENINSULA TRAVELERS! The US 101 Hoh River Bridge requires emergency repairs that will prevent your ability to make a complete loop around the peninsula for the better part of three weeks. Please read the details below carefully, reference the map, and adjust your travels as needed:

The US 101 Hoh River Bridge south of Forks needs emergency repairs. This bridge is 95 years old, and while it CAN be repaired, it requires nighttime closures starting Tuesday, Sept. 15, and around-the-clock closures starting Thursday, Sept. 24.

NIGHTTIME CLOSURES: Tuesday, Sept. 15, to Tuesday, Sept. 22, from 10:30 p.m. to 5:30 a.m.

AROUND-THE-CLOCK CLOSURES:
- 5 a.m. Thursday, Sept. 24, to 5 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 29
- 5 a.m. Thursday, Oct. 1, to noon Tuesday, Oct. 6
- 5 a.m. Thursday, Oct. 8, to noon Tuesday, Oct. 13

This means travelers heading NORTH to visit the Hoh Rainforest, Forks, Rialto Beach, or La Push and travelers heading SOUTH to visit Ruby Beach, the Quinault Rainforest, or the Kalaloch beaches will need to prepare for hours-long detours during these closures.

We understand this is a major inconvenience, and crews will work very hard to get this work finished as soon as possible.
