Good Morning, I would like to bring to everyone's attention a situation we had last night, And how Tow Union is helping. At 9pm last Billy went out on a repo.... He spotted his car and hooked it... The alarm went of... And we know what happened next... The debtor called 911. About 6 minutes later 3 St Lucie County Sheriff's Deputies showed up... And to the debtor's surprise they were aware of the amendment made to Fl Statute 493..The debtor was advised that the "AGENT" had the proper paper work and she would have to call her lien-holder in the am.... This is what we do here... We take the laws that we have and bring them to the attention of local law enforcement, and the laws we do not have... Well we fight to have them. The new amendment, CARE, CUSTODY & POSSESSION should be nationwide. I will be fighting to have this passed in every state across the country. This is why I ask that due to my being in Florida... I could use more members that are actually REPO AGENTS to step forward and maybe be my liason to the local law enforcement agencies everywhere. In a few months, my hope is that I will be able to travel from State to State and meet you personally and approach your local legislation with the things we need to change in this industry.. To better the industry and make it safer for us. I wanted this Union almost 10 yrs ago and my husband said I was "CRAZY".. Well crazy I might be. Peter has gotten this thing rolling and I am "CRAZY" enough to agree , and stand by him and the Tow Union..... I will be posting exactly how the amendment reads in a minute.... Attention REPO AGENTS
Amendment to Fl 493:

"A repossession is complete when a licensed recovery agent is in CONTROL, CUSTODY, & POSSESSION of such repossessed property. Property that is being repossessed shall be considered to be in control, custody and possession of a RECOVERY AGENT if the property being repossessed is secured in preparation for the transport from the site of recovery by means of being attached to or placed on the towing or other transport vehicle or if the property being repossessed is being operated or ABOUT to be operated by an employee of the Recovery Agency."
