So I did a thing. Here we have a First Act SFA Sheena model that I modified quite a bit. First off, I routed for a middle humbucker pick up, and then stained and clear-coated the very white Maple fingerboard to a more vintage looking amber color, followed by installing an original Fender Wilkinson roller nut that has had the down roller pin removed. In order for the intonation to be correct, 1/8" has to be removed from the nut end of the fretboard to accommodate the roller nut. I also installed a Wilkinson roller bridge and drilled and installed a Duesenberg vibrato tailpiece. I plugged the string retainer recess in the back of the body with a piece of Bubinga. As for the electronics, the bridge pickup is a hot 13k Rio Grande Crunchbox, middle pickup is a hot 12K Allparts mustache-style mini humbucker-sized single coil, and the neck pickup is an original 70s Greco humbucker that puts out about 8k. I triple wax pot is all three pickups so there is no microphonic squealing. The neck and Bridge pickups are wired to the main three way toggle switch, and the middle pickup is wired to the on/off mini toggle switch next to that. The volume pot is a 500K Push/Pull pot for coil splitting the bridge pickup for really cool single-coil tones, and the tone pot is 250K with a .02 to cap. For the time being it has regular diecast tuners, but the locking tuners are on order and should be arriving soon. Regardless of that the tuning stability is surprisingly reliable. I have it set up with nickel wound 10-46 strings. It sounds huge and versatile, mean, snarly, warm and has a bit of an attitude. What do you guys think of it?
