UPDATE FROM THE PORT OF PORT ARTHUR CONCERNING TENANT WOODVILLE PELLETS

September 6, 2026 | 6:00 p.m. Update

Workers continue to make progress with the process of inerting the affected silo. Local fire officials, Woodville Pellets representatives, and Port officials continue to monitor the situation.

Additional updates will be provided as needed.

AN OFFICIAL STATEMENT FROM THE PORT OF PORT ARTHUR:

September 6, 2026, 8:30 am

Woodville Pellets, a tenant, with operations at the Port of Port Arthur reported smoke in one of their pellet silos. The matter was reported to local fire authorities, who promptly responded. Local fire officials are monitoring the situation. Efforts are underway inert the silo to mitigate any smoke and/or smoldering.

The Port of Port Arthur remains in communication with Woodville Pellets and local emergency officials and will provide additional information as appropriate.
