Brunton Motor Freight, Pontiac, IL 61764 is seeking (2) reliable and experienced truck/trailer mechanics to help maintain and service a fleet of 18-Peterbilt 389 glider kit trucks (Pre-emissions engines) and 80-flatbed/Conestoga trailers.

This opening is for a first shift, full time truck/trailer mechanic from the Pontiac, IL 61764 area.

We are looking for someone who takes pride in their work, values consistency, and understands the importance of keeping equipment safe and road-ready.

Responsibilities:
Perform routine maintenance and repairs on trucks
Diagnose mechanical and electrical issues
Complete preventative maintenance (PMs), inspections, and DOT compliance work
Repair engines, brakes, suspension systems, and drivetrain components
Maintain accurate service records and report needed repairs
Ensure all equipment meets safety and operational standards
Work efficiently to minimize downtime

We have an immediate opening for a light trailer mechanic, full
and part-time positions available. Previous maintenance experience is preferred, but we are willing to train the right individual. We are looking for an eager self-motivated individual to help with basic light duty trailer/truck maintenance and shop help. Some of the duties will include greasing trailer components, checking
air pressure/tread depth of tires, checking lights, hub oil levels, brake linings, air hoses, etc. If interested, please contact us.

Joseph James Roedell, 72, went home to be with the Lord on August 27th, 2024 surrounded by his family at OSF St. James Hospital.

Born in Pontiac, Illinois, he was the son of Lawrence Roedell and Adrian (Reed) Roedell. October 7th, 1978, he married the love of his life Joan Clark-Roedell, who preceded him in his heavenly reception on February 12th, 2020. He was also preceded in death by his brother, Mike Roedell; sister-in-law, Flossie Roedell; and brother-in-law, Terry Clark.

He graduated from Odell High School in 1970 and was a semi-truck driver for much of his life for Brunton Motor Freight.

He is survived, loved, and missed dearly by his children, Kimberly Sereg (Michael Collins) (Pontiac), Tisha Brown (Pontiac), Karen (Eddie) Millsap (Pontiac), Jodi Roedell (Seybrook), Ted Bennett, Josh (Tammy) Davis (Dana); his grandchildren Zachary (Halley) Sereg, Amanda Brown (William Cushow), Susie Brown, Jody Brown (Amber Grider), Charles (Shanie) Bennett-Devault, Jeremiah Devault (Krysha Hurt), Andrew Devault (Jessica Hernandez), Katelyn Devault (Kennon Rose), Brenda Zehr, Leah Bennett, Jennafer Bennett, Brett Wilson, Hope MJ Tish, Kayla Wilson, his siblings Faye Clark (Florida), Glen Roedell (Arkansas), Cheryl (David) Pennington (Fairbury), Janeen (David) Lloyd (Fairbury), Gerry (George) Gilmore (Pontiac), and Terry (Wendy) Roedell (Arkansas); and many, many great grandchildren.

We are gonna miss you Big Sexy.
