American Roll-On Roll-Off Carrier ARC and Wallenius Wilhelmsen Solutions Zeebrugge were pleased to recently host U.S. Ambassador to the Kingdom of Belgium Bill White, his spouse Bryan Eure, the Governor of Province West Flanders Carl Decaluwe, and senior leadership from the Port of Antwerp-Bruges for a visit to the Port of Zeebrugge and the M/V ARC Independence.
Captain Nicholas Kalmukos and his officer team, led by Ragen Johnson, guided a tour of the vessel alongside ARC’s Brian Jones and Andrew Young, showcasing the full range of the various types of cargo ARC carries including U.S. military POVs, green cargo, and U.S.-flag commercial cargo. The delegation also observed the loading of Tunnel Boring Machine (TBM) components to be used in the Hudson Tunnel Project (HTP) - the HTP will deliver a new two-track rail tunnel beneath the Hudson River and rehabilitate the existing, century-old North River Tunnels, which connect New Jersey and Manhattan.
