To enter the contest, go to the "Beard Booth" in the Civic Center Exhibit Hall anytime between 5:30 and 8:30 p.m. Friday, April 10. Contestants must sign up and have their photo taken during this timeframe. Contestants will select their competition category when registering. Photos will be displayed Saturday for public voting.

People’s Choice voting open on Saturday, April 11, from 10:30 a.m. – 7:00 p.m. at the Beard Contest booth in the Exhibit Hall. Photos of all contestants (with first names only) will be displayed for the public. Attendees at Party with a Purpose will determine the winners by voting with their purchased tickets. Cost is $1 per ticket = one vote.

Saturday evening, winners will be announced between music sets at approximately 7:30 p.m. on the Main Stage. Winners will be recognized on stage and photographed.

ENTRY GUIDELINES
🔸 Open to participants age 18 and older.
🔸 Entry is free, though donations to Christos House are encouraged.
🔸 All contestants must be photographed Friday evening to be eligible for voting.
🔸 Contestants agree to allow photos to be used in festival promotions.

CATEGORIES
1. Best Full Beard (Natural) – Length and fullness are the key.
2. Best Styled Beard – Creative use of grooming, shaping, or product.
3. Best Mustache – Distinguished, dashing, or downright daring.
4. Best Partial Beard or Goatee – Clean, intentional, and well-kept.
5. Best Mutton Chops – Sideburn-heavy facial hair that makes a statement.
6. Most Creative / Whisker Art – Fun, themed, or wildly original.
7. “Best Disguise” Special Category – Don’t have facial hair? Wear a fake beard!

We moved this soda fountain bar back in 2020 from its original home in an old pharmacy in Kershaw, Sc to Springfield, Mo. We thought it was at its forever home but it was sold to a company in Elkhart, IN. We were once again privileged to disassemble and move this piece of americana to its new home this week. We were not able to get photos of it back together as it is still under construction. If you are ever in Elkhart, IN , stop in and see it.
