Fish Monger 6/17 Seabass / Ling -

Both boats back at it with two great crews and both boxes full with a nice catch of fish. Again it isn't coming easy but better than not coming at all. Fishing has bounced back but gotta fish harder than normal for everything that goes in the box!

On the Red boat we had John n the fam for the annual bottom trip. A great tradition n awesome watching the kids get older every year while being busy reeling in fish. All seabass were nice quality n a good showinh of ling Never a great bite but steady. Had a good mixed box of 120. On the Green boat Capt Aled had Steve and the fam. Had a good shot of nice seabass to start, then had to bounce around steady picking at quality. Never a huge amount from one spots , take what it gave and move on. The crew worked hard at it n They added up and by days had a 13 man limit of 130. Couple winter flounder in the mix this week and still some nice blackfish going back.

Time to break out the gulp! With the westerlies and favorable and calm inshore conditons Fri-Sun we will b mixing it up combo style for both fluke and seabass. Ling charters on the sched for next week as well with a couple spots avail next wed. Call or text Marie for all charter info 732 403-6056

Fish Monger Tues 6/16 Am & Pm Seabass / Ling / Upcoming Fluke -

3 trips... some awesome crews aboard. With nice boxes all around. 2 of the trips made a limits (11 & 10 man) and the other a box of 80k. Been some great quality fish, but also alot of areas that that have little to no life.

On the red boat in the am we had Bill and the Ideal crew. One of our longest running crew these Old salts are always filling the box! Never a good bite just a steady pick of nice size with a couple better shots, quality of fish n bite of late made it worth sticking with. On the green bkat Capt Alex had Ray and crew. Also a fun bunch that enjoys there time on the water. Same type bite... slow n steady w quality fish added up tk a box of 80.

In the afternoon Capt Alex and crew had Rich and friends for the pm. Started off beautiful but got breezy by the end of it. Fish were biting tho and the crew wemt to work. Nicer pace at quality stuff and the box was full with an 11 man limit.

This isn't the fishing or bite we are used to but doing out best to make ut work. High bust potential, finciky bite and lots of barren spots been leading to alot of searching both inshore n off. Will b starting to mix fluke in fri with the westerlies and new fish in the area. Thanks everyone here some pics

Fish Monger Mon 6/15 Late Leave Seabass

Both boats pushed departure time till 1030 to let the ocean settle down n save everyone a beaten. Never flopped out completely like forcasted so we were kinda limited but backed off enough it was nice inshore... so we went to work...Good to see the local fishing bounce back! plenty of bites n action with loads of smaller fish to w**d thru which kept everyone busy between keepers. Bounced around n found some.nice fish mixed in. Red boat put together a nice full 13 man limit box and the Green boat a box of 65 for a smaller crew. Made the most of it, and turned a day that would have been lost into two fun trips. Everyone had a good time and went home with fish A win in my book! Two great crews heres the pics!

Fish Monger Sun 6/14 Seabass Limits ( 16 & 9 man) / Ling -

After yesterday's dismal life quite the turnaround...much better fishing with size n numbers for both boats... Some real knuckle heads in the mix filling the box too! Been the story of the last week plenty of nice fish around but how and where they bite has been inconsistent. After a jig crush the few days ago, everything was on bait today. 2026 Keeping ya guessing daily, Also had a nice shot of 60 ling which was a welcomed bonus and both boats beat the heavy wind in.

Last week of seabass than on to fluke , some have shown up locally which is a good sign, deepwater ling and inshore light tackle triggers fish... Bite depending, Once that gets rolling we will add a few pm open trips for whats best like we did with the seabass. Call or text Marie 732 403-6056

Fish Monger Sat 6/13 Am & Pm Seabass-

Both boats back at it... 4 trips with some great peeps.

Ewww that was some tough grindy fishing. Went back to where we had a jig slaughter to end the evening only on to find a barren wasteland. Headed inshore n both boats went searching n grinded out what they could. Best trip of em managed to scrape 80 fish for the box. The other three only 30... looked all over and it was the same..read plenty catch a few. Everyone caught some fish and had a good time with it but not nearly enough for the box which made it frustrating. 2026 has been that way at times. Slower day but Appreciate everyone working hard at it.

Looking ahead next up will b flatties n our deep water ling trips and we always sneak a few trigger trips in. Won't b long Heres some pics thanks guys!

Fish Monger Fri 6/12 Am & Pm Seabass Limits 11 & 9 man / Am Mixed bag -

Both boats back at with 3 great repeat charters... making the most of everyday we got as the seabass season is winding down . As most have seen it been grind lately have to do alot of looking to find some hungry ones.

On the Red boat im the Am we had Adam K and crew... cant really ever say we had a good bite. Just a steady pick at some quality stuff... some nice lunkers mixed in but ya had to work at it... couple nice shots at the end of the day let us top the nix with an 11 man limit. Appreciate the crew sticking with it the reward was a box of quality stuff. On the pm trip we Had Mike and friends and the life startred off horrendous with just a handful of keepers. With nothing to lose we rolled the dice and took a ride and landed on the motherload of jig fish gorging. Game over lock n load jigging... caught a 9 man limit in one nice long drift... loads of double headers n a whole mess of ling on jigs as well made for a nice bonus n full limit box.

On the Green Boat Capt Alex had Fran and an always fun crew. Same deal with the seabass. A slow pick at some nice ones bit eventually it dried up, not finding much Capt looked a little deeper where they picked at ling. That wasnt fast either added to thr catch... by days end they had a nice mixed box off 100 fish. With plenty of fillets for everyone for dinner. Always want more but did what was needed to put a day together the best we can..

Fish Monger Thurs 6/11 Seabass-

Both boats tried some different locations looking for a better bite. Found a slow n steady pick but all the fish were real nicer size quality. Never a great bite but after too many little fish it was good seeing some bigger fish back in the mix. On the Red boat Cj and crew worked at it all day, couple good shots n by the end of it had a 10 man limit of beautiful Seabass. They have a good streak going for alot of years now! On the green boat we had a great open boat crew of regulars. Tony Pep n the kid? Brian and friends. Similar bite and size just never found that ome gokd shot they needed. Finished with 60k... Still have to work very hard at it but it was better than local of late and something to work with going forward. Lots of readings in the area. Pics... thanks guys!

Fish Monger Wed 6/10 Seabass

Both boths back at it with two awesome crews. Good news is the Weather turned out nice with good conditions all trip. Bad news is the fish didnt cooperate well. Hard south current again, Some places were lifeless just a few bites, mostly shorts blackfish or odd keeper. Others were drop n reel with hardly anything to keep. Worked really hard to Picked a few nicer seabass here n there. Same for both boats in different locations. Only came up with 65 & 55 keepers. Everyone enjoyed the day just needed more for the box. Appreciate both crews sticking w it n fishing hard. Hopefully find better tomorow.... thanks everyone

Fish Monger Tues 6/9 Seabass -

Both boats back at it...found a slower picky grind today... atleast w the bigger fish, lots of bites n action but lots of smalls to w**d thru. No place gave up any big number of keepers.. had mountains of readings just to pick a few for the box...both crews fished hard picking what they could n scraped up a catch. Not as many as we want or a limit but enough that everyone enjoyed the day had action and went home with fillets. Made the best of the bite we had and came up boxes of 85 & 75 keepers. Def Could have been alof better but could have been worse.

Fun day with two great crews...Plenty around just didnt bite good, but we caught the ones that did lol heres the pics thanks everyone!

Fish Monger Mon 6/8 Seabass Limits (11 & 9 man) for both boats -

Love when a plan comes together!!! Both boats adjusted departure time and saved everyone hrs of a rough ocean. Let the wind drop out and ocean settle down and gave the crews the optimal conditions for the day. It's a short season and gotta make the most of it for everyone when the weather lets us. We appreciate our crews trusting our judgment!

Fishing was like the last couple days Working harder than we should for what goes in the box... lots of drifts n spots to put it together and find a shot of nicer fish.. loads of action n smaller fish to w**d thru just have to stick with it for ya keepers. Both boats did just that and found some beautiful quality to fill the box with 11 & 9 man limits with two awesome crews. Some blackfish going back and a couple of flounder n ling for tbe box. Also seen our first few porgies too...Ocean was pancake by the end of the day and everyone went home with plenty of tasty fillets. Great day on the water. Here's the pics thanks everyone !
