🚛 Safety Tip Tuesday: Pre-Trip Inspection Series: Week 6 🚛
This week, we’re checking the part of the truck that meets the road every mile of the trip FRONT WHEELS & TIRES. 🛞
During your pre-trip, check your steer tires for proper inflation and overall condition. Look closely for cuts, bulges, cracks, exposed cords, uneven wear, or other visible damage. Steer tires should have at least 4/32” of tread depth in every major groove.
And don’t stop at the rubber! Inspect the rims, lug nuts, and hub seals for anything loose, damaged, missing, or leaking.
A tire or wheel problem at highway speed can become a serious situation fast. Taking a few minutes to inspect them before you roll helps protect the driver, the equipment, the load, and everyone sharing the road.
Safe miles start where the rubber meets the road. 🚛
We’re continuing our Safety Tip Tuesday Pre-Trip Inspection Series each week as we work our way around the truck.
👀 Drivers, what’s one tire or wheel issue you’ve caught during a pre-trip that you’re glad you found before hitting the road?
