•Responsible for the transportation of materials and safe operation of a company-provided vehicle to meet customer delivery requirements
•Understands and follows all company safety policies and procedures
•Strap, chain, and secure materials to ensure safe transport to designated delivery point
•Tarp loads are required by customers or due to weather conditions
•Checks load for proper loading and that all materials are on the truck prior to departing
•Ensures any necessary repairs required are made to truck or trailer prior to departure
•Operate the vehicle safely and in accordance with local jurisdictions
•Maintain records/logbook as prescribed by DOT and Company policy
•Operate company issued electronic and/or communication equipment professionally and respectfully
•Cell Phone use is permissible while driving a motor vehicle equipped with hands-free devices and adhering to all DOT rules and regulations
•Maintain a professional presentation and interaction with customers
•Coordinate with Transportation/Shipping department to update of any delays/returns or questions on deliveries
•Report any citations received immediately and take photos of any cited deficiencies
•Conduct thorough pre-trip and post-trip inspections
•Basic measuring skills to read measuring devices
•Assists customers with identifying materials to be offloaded at the delivery location
verifies material and piece count at point of delivery with customer and signs Bill of Lading (BOL) with the date of delivery
•Collects correct amount of funds for COD payments from customers and secures payments with BOL until deposited in drop box daily
Completes all documents in Accident Kit with photos if involved in any type of accident
•Judgment: exhibits sound judgment and make reasonable decisions within the scope of responsibility
•Employee will work in an open environment the majority (98%) of the time and will be exposed to some or all of the following working conditions: Extreme Heat & Cold, Noise,
•Employee will be exposed to the hazards of working with heavy machinery
