This Howard "Damn Good Airplane" DGA-15 came through the airport this weekend. Designed in 1939, most Howards were owned by wealthy individuals or movie stars, but when Pearl Harbor was attacked, many were commandeered by the military for the war effort. Like many other Howards during the war, this airplane served as an air ambulance. Its wooden wings, fabric fuselage, and radial Pratt & Whitney 450HP engine make for a comfortable ride for up to 5 people. Today there are less than 100 DGA-15s still flying.
