After spending the morning riding camels and hamming it up with the Sphinx at the Giza Complex my guide Amani and I moved on to the GEM - The Grand Egyptian Museum (GEM) is the largest archaeological museum dedicated to a single civilization, located near the Giza Pyramids in Egypt. It officially opened on November 1, 2025, and houses over 100,000 artifacts, including the complete collection of Tutankhamun's treasures. Photos are allowed but please don't bring your Meta Glasses. I just returned from a tip to Egypt for 7 days. It was not for the faint of heart. If you like getting on a bus with 50 other travelers and moving as a herd thru the various sites - Don't do it. You will miss the flavor, excitement and sense of history of the country and it's people. If you are an adventurous traveler who wants to experience the TRUE Egypt, book a small group tour on Viator or Tour Radar. or similar booking site. I booked mine with Tour Radar and Hola Egypto Tours. My coordinator - Peter took good care of me and everyone I encountered who was associate with the tour was friendly, knowledgeable and made me feel at ease as a single woman traveler in an Arab country. The smaller groups assign you more in a one on one manner so you have direct personal interaction with your driver or tour guide. I will be posting photos of this incredible trip.
