Some places just make you stop and think… yeah, this is exactly why I travel.

Okay… this one’s got me curious. 👀

Hyatt just rolled out something at Secrets Cap Cana that’s definitely going to spark some opinions.

Guests can now pay to reserve a pool chair in advance through the resort app.

Here’s where I’m torn…

I hate nothing more than feeling like I have to fight for my life at 6:00 AM just to claim a chair… only to spend the rest of the day staring at rows of “reserved” loungers with nothing on them except a towel and a paperback book while the people who “claimed” them are nowhere to be found.

That drives me absolutely insane.

But instead of holding guests accountable and enforcing a “use it or lose it” policy… charging people even more at a resort they’re already paying a premium to stay at is a really interesting approach.

I can definitely see the appeal if you’re someone who wants to sleep in and know you’ll have a guaranteed spot by the pool.

On the other hand… should reserving a lounge chair become another vacation add-on?

I’m genuinely curious where everyone lands on this one.

💭 Would you pay for the peace of mind, or should pool chairs stay first come, first served with resorts simply enforcing their no chair-saving policies?

One of the biggest misconceptions about planning a trip to Cancun is thinking that every resort is in the same area.

In reality, "Cancun" is made up of several different destinations, each with its own personality. Choosing the right one can completely change your vacation.

**Hotel Zone**
Best for first-time visitors, nightlife, shopping, restaurants, and easy access to activities.

**Costa Mujeres**
A newer area with beautiful luxury resorts, wider beaches, and a quieter atmosphere than the Hotel Zone.

**Playa Mujeres**
One of my favorite areas for couples. Think upscale all-inclusive resorts, beautiful beaches, golf, and a more relaxed feel while still being close to Cancun.

**Isla Mujeres**
Perfect if you're looking for a boutique island experience. You'll trade cars for golf carts, discover incredible local restaurants, and enjoy some of the clearest water in Mexico. And this is definitely the place to go for Whale Shark season!

**Playa del Carmen**
Great if you like being able to leave your resort to explore local restaurants, shopping, and nightlife along Fifth Avenue.

**Riviera Maya**
Ideal for travelers who want larger resorts surrounded by nature, with easy access to cenotes, eco parks, and excursions.

**Tulum**
Best for boutique hotels, wellness escapes, beach clubs, and travelers who enjoy a more laid-back, design-forward atmosphere.

The truth is, there isn't one "best" place to stay...only the best fit for the type of vacation you want.

That's one of the biggest ways I help my clients. Instead of simply recommending a resort, I help narrow down the destination first.
