Traveling is a beautiful and unmatched experience, and as a woman who loves to do it, I always keep important things in mind: my safety.

There's nothing like sharing every step of your adventure, but you have to do it mindfully. Tag the place after you left, post the view after you checked out. It’s a small habit that makes a big difference. The experience is still just as good even if the world sees it a little after it happened.

Stay safe always, especially when you're abroad and on your own.🤍

Throughout our journey with Trekking Pals, we’ve met so many incredible women ready to embark on an adventure. But there’s one question that comes up again and again: “Can I really do the Inca Trail at my age?”

The answer is yes and we don’t say that just to be encouraging. We say it because we’ve seen it happen. Women who had never hiked a day in their lives achieving something they once believed was out of reach.

It’s never too late to challenge yourself and turn what feels impossible into something you’ve actually done.

All it takes is the right preparation: starting your training early, building both strength and cardio, and making sure you have the right gear and clothing for the trail.

We’ve all felt that little bit of anxiety about doing something new and stepping outside our comfort zone. But Reyna decided to take the chance. 💜

Traveling somewhere new and with people she didn’t know felt a little intimidating at first. But once she was there, everything shifted. Those worries turned into moments and memories she’ll carry with her for the rest of her life.

Along the way she met incredible women, shared laughter and stories. And experienced the beauty of Peru, its culture, its food and its people.

In her words: “Just do it. You won’t regret it.”

If Peru ever makes it onto your travel list, these are the dishes I recommend you try.

Something for every palate, from bold, layered flavors like Lomo Saltado and Aji de Gallina, to simpler but equally exciting bites like Choclo con Queso and Picarones. And of course, the famous ceviche! And this is just a taste of what Peruvian cuisine has to offer. 🍲

If you ever visit, know that you’ll find a whole new world to explore. It is the kind of food that makes you wonder how you ever lived without it.
