June 6th is the Home Swim Meet. I will need parent help Friday night about 5:45 to get chairs stacked and the pool deck ready for Saturday morning. Saturday, I need as many parents as possible to help. This is an all hands on event to be successful. Please let me know if you are available so I can start getting areas covered.

Yes, it is sprinkling. Yes, we are having practice. Swimmers will be wet anyway and lightning is well over 100 miles away.

Just a few things as swim season is a week away. Practices will start at 8am Tuesday morning. Please be there to get stretches started by 8. First meet is June 6, but I do not know where yet. We will have 4 regular season meets. Swimmers have to swim in 3 meets or 2 meets and a relay meet for a chance to qualify. They also have to have 2 times in any event and be in the Top 20 to go to Championship. There are no qualifying meets this year so this is new. We will practice hard and focus on strokes to improve times and get as many kids as possible to Championship.

Payment of $28 per swimmer is due by the first practice. Swimmers will need goggles that seal and fit well. One piece suits are preferred for meets in a solid navy or black or team suit. I will do some checking and see if the suits we have had are available.

Time to start thinking about Swim Team. Phillipsburg will be having a team again this year. League fees are $28. Please get your swimmers signed up ASAP so that meet locations can start to be finalized. Practice will begin Tues May 26 at 8am. We will practice Mon-Fri 8am-9am. This allows kids to make it to sports camps/practices and weights and still get in a day or two of swim practice.

Swimming is the only way to condition for Swimming.

That being said, this is a very competitive league covering parts of 3 states and rough 700 swimmers.

Championship was a huge succcess for these four swimmers. Final placings are not posted but tentatively…7 individual medals, 2 sets of relay medals and of those…4 first place individual and 1 first place relay. WOW!!!

Thank you all for a fantastic season. It has been fun, sassy, and full of learning with all of the kids! Keep swimming the rest of the summer and we will see what next season brings.
