The Philipsburg & Northern Railway (P&N) is bringing railroading back to life in the heart of Central Pennsylvania. Operating on restored historic rights-of-way and partnering with regional railroads, we’re more than just a

train line — we’re a community project built to connect towns, create jobs, and keep history alive. From our headquarters in the restored Philips Hotel to our main yard between Hawk Run & Munson, P&N serves freight customers, passengers, and tourists alike. Our network will feature:

Daily commuter service linking Philipsburg, Cresson, Dubois, and beyond. Specialty freight service for timber, finished goods, aggregates, grain, livestock, and more. Community-focused businesses including sawmills, bakeries, butcher shops, a rail museum, and gift shops. We are committed to:

Veterans and second-chance hiring programs. Local agriculture & small business partnerships. Charitable giving to veterans’ organizations, senior centers, and early intervention programs. Friends, neighbors, and fellow believers, we’re excited to share a vision for the Beech Creek Railroad — a ministry on rails designed to honor God, preserve Pennsylvania’s rich heritage, and bring life back to our communities.

What’s Coming

The Galilee Limited Worship Train – a family-friendly, Christ-centered excursion featuring breakfast, Scripture, and worship as we journey through historic landscapes.

Creation & Coal Heritage Museum (Houtzdale) – exploring God’s creation, the faith of early communities, and the coal and timber industries that shaped this region.

Hawk Run Railroad Museum & Event Grounds – preserving locomotives, rolling stock, and the story of the Beech Creek Railroad while hosting festivals, parades, and educational events.

Hospitality & Tourism – restaurants, diners, lodging, and community spaces designed to revitalize towns along our line.

Community Outreach & Service – shelters, kitchens, and charitable programs supporting veterans, families, and those in need. Every train ride, museum exhibit, and donation is part of our mission to glorify God and serve others.

We want Our Flagship Station to be the Philipsburg Station proposed Locations are behind the Harbor INN or behing the Mid Penn Bank. The Station will be named the Philipsburg Veterans Memorial Station, it will have a small court yard with a peice of US artillary, a Brick Memorial wall and the station will have Veteran Murals painted inside and out with a 100' flag pole flying OLD GLORY and two 50' poles on either side one with the PA flag and the Other will have the POW*MIA flag. Plus a small event area for local events, like boy/girl scout fundraisers, Farmers Market, Ect. We want our HQ to be the historic Philips Hotel. we will retrofit the entire Building and upgrade it to code. Please let us know in the comments below. What are your thoughts?

Our team is/will be looking for strong Hearted and Head strong Rail enthusiast, to help us get this ball rolling, We are looking for secretaries, treasurers, PR relations, Project Managers, MOW formans/Crew, FRA Compliant/Certified Train crews, Civil Engineers & civil crews, HR, Government liaison, Station/Museum/diner/store staff, Sawmill workers, Machinists for Loco Works Shop, CDL drivers(with or without Hazmat)/ shuttle drivers, and people to operate our proposed Biomass/compost/scrap/recycling Plant for clean energy. Union and Non-Union positions, full company BENEFITS, Full Paternity/Maternity paid Leave, 10 days PTO after 90 days, 10 sick days at Hire, bonuses, yearly raises, and more. Veterans and Non-Violent Felons encouraged to apply. Volunteers welcomed. Make Pennsylvania & Pennsylvania Railroading Great Again!
