above l below l beyond above | below | beyond is an exhibition of student designs for Philadelphia's unused railroad corridor.

In the spring of 2012 Temple University’s senior landscape architecture studio and University of Pennsylvania’s senior architecture studio independently took on the challenge of designing Philadelphia’s three mile long unused rail right of way, the former Reading Railroad. Inspired by the space’s unique structure, pervasive wild vegetation, the railroad’s dramatic elevation changes, and its locati

on in many Philadelphia neighborhoods, students took on creative inventions to incorporate this historic relic into a diverse and engaging civil experience.
