Diversity Visa Lottery Winner Found Guilty of Visa Fraud!

A 36-year-old man from the Democratic Republic of the Congo, Lopez Munongo Makengo, was convicted by a federal jury in Sioux City, Iowa, of unlawfully possessing and using identification documents.

The case stemmed from his successful application for the U.S. Diversity Visa Lottery. Investigators found that when he applied for the Diversity Visa in 2014 and was later interviewed under oath at the U.S. Embassy, he failed to disclose that he already had a child born in 2013, even though he was required to list all living children on his application.

After immigrating to the United States in 2016, Makengo filed a petition in 2017 for his relatives to join him and listed the same child he had previously omitted from his Diversity Visa application. The discrepancy was uncovered in 2022 during a separate child abuse and neglect investigation by the Sioux City Police Department.

He now faces a maximum sentence of 5 years in federal prison, a $250,000 fine, and up to 3 years of supervised release. He remains free on bond while awaiting sentencing.

Sometimes, Pharaoh isn't a person.
Sometimes Pharaoh is fear, debt, sickness, addiction, disappointment, toxic relationships, rejection, or anything that keeps you trapped and stops you from becoming who God created you to be.

Just as God heard the cries of the Israelites in Egypt, He still hears the cries of His people today. Their freedom didn't come overnight, but God never forgot His promise. At the appointed time, He raised Moses with a message that changed history: “Let My People Go!"

Maybe today you need to speak those same words over your own life:
Let my peace go.
Let my joy go.
Let my health go.
Let my dreams go.
Let my family go.
Let my future go.

Whatever has been holding you captive does not have the final say. God is still in the business of breaking chains, opening doors, and making a way where there seems to be no way. Keep trusting Him. Your "Egypt" is not your final destination. Freedom is coming.
