We've developed the Draft MDOT Statewide Transit Plan and Intercity Bus Study as part of our assessment of Mississippi's transportation service needs. These plans evaluate the current transportation network, identify opportunities for improvement, and outline recommended strategies to enhance transportation services.

Hats off to Roderick Bailey, who has just been named MDOT's new Director of Public Transit! 👏

With more than 17 years of experience at MDOT, Roderick was promoted after previously serving as the deputy director of the Public Transit Division. The move comes after Shirley Wilson retired as Public Transit Director in June.

“Roderick’s years of experience in public transit are a valuable asset to this agency,” said Brad White, MDOT Executive Director. “His leadership will continue our commitment to provide safe, reliable public transportation for all Mississippi communities with an emphasis on the needs of the riders.”

Philadelphia Transit, attended the CTAA Expo in Omaha, Nebraska this week and truly enjoyed the opportunity to meet transportation professionals from across the United States. Sharing ideas, learning from one another, and gaining valuable knowledge through the courses and sessions made this a meaningful experience. It is inspiring to see so many people working toward the same goal of improving transportation in their communities.

Congratulations to Delta Rides Regional Coordinated Group on receiving the CTAA Outstanding Community Partner Award! Mississippi was well represented, and we are proud to see the great work being recognized!
