Since I don’t have a GPS, I haven’t filed an IFR flight plan in 2 1/2 years. Finally did it today as a /U for the first time. 02C BAE V191 OSH KOSH was about the easiest route I could think of to give it a try. Milwaukee TRACON was wonderful to work with for such an antiquated form of navigation.

I scored better than I expected to, especially with how I felt it was going during the test!

I dreamed last night I landed at O’hare and had the following conversation with the tower:

Tower: Cherokee 95402, best forward speed until a mile final
Me: I can give you 110 all the way down
(After landing)
Tower: Cherokee 402, excellent job, that’s the best flying by a single piston I’ve ever seen. You’re welcome at O’hare any time.
Me: Don’t get too excited, you haven’t seen me try to taxi yet
