There are sunsets, and then there are Costa Rica sunsets. 🌅

These views from Secrets Papagayo Costa Rica are one of those moments that remind you why location matters when choosing a resort.

Set along the shores of the Gulf of Papagayo, this adults only, all inclusive resort is surrounded by tropical landscapes, volcanic scenery, and the calm waters of Culebra Bay. The resort has a more intimate, tucked away feel than many larger all inclusive properties, making it a great fit for couples, honeymoons, anniversaries, or travelers who want to slow down and truly enjoy the destination.

And then there are evenings like this.

If seeing a Costa Rica sunset from Secrets Papagayo sounds like your kind of vacation, reach out. I would love to help you decide if this resort is the right match for your travel style and plan the details to get you there.

I’m almost 50 years old, and my dad still worries every time I travel. ❤️

I can tell him I’m staying at a beautiful all inclusive resort with great security, and somehow all he hears is… “danger.”

One thing that always helps put his mind at ease is when I tell him I’ve enrolled in the Smart Traveler Enrollment Program (STEP).

If you’re traveling outside the United States, I recommend registering too. It’s a free service from the U.S. Department of State that allows you to receive important updates and alerts from U.S. embassies and consulates. If an emergency happens where you’re traveling, it also makes it easier for the embassy to contact and assist you if needed.

It’s one of those small travel tips that takes just a few minutes but can make a big difference for both you and the people waiting for you back home.

Do you register for STEP before international trips, or is this your first time hearing about it? 🌎✈️

One of the questions I get asked the most is, “Do I need to tip at an all inclusive resort?”

While tipping is often optional, it can make a meaningful difference. The people taking care of you are working long days in the heat, serving drinks by the pool, preparing meals, cleaning rooms, and making sure your vacation feels effortless. In many destinations, gratuities are an important part of their income.

A few dollars here and there is a simple way to show appreciation for exceptional service, and you’ll often find it leads to an even more personalized experience throughout your stay.

Not sure how much to tip or who to tip? I put together a free all inclusive tipping guide to make it easy.

Send me a DM and I’ll send it your way. ✈️🌴

A little more about me, outside of the work.

Although let's be honest, I love what I do so much that "not working" is sometimes a loose term.

But one thing that is very near and dear to my heart is giving back to my community, especially by supporting local women.

Each year, I attend a luncheon for a local women's organization, and it has become something I truly look forward to. In recent years, my companies have started hosting a table, and we have partnered with a local designer to create a beautiful table for the annual fundraiser.

It is more than just attending an event.

It is inviting women to gather.
It is supporting the auction.
It is donating.
It is showing up for an organization that does meaningful work in our community.

I have always believed that if you can give back, you should. Whether that is through time, resources, connection, or simply helping bring more people to the table.

This luncheon has become one of those traditions that fills my cup every year, and I feel grateful that my businesses allow me to support causes and people I care about.

Because at the end of the day, business is personal.

And community matters.

What’s on my desk this week? ✈️

Every itinerary starts the same way.

Not with a destination.

With people.

This week, I’m helping match three very different vacations to three very different travel styles:

🚢 A 16-person multi-generational family cruise where everyone, from grandparents to grandkids, has a great time.

🌲 A river cruise along the Columbia & Snake Rivers for travelers who want beautiful scenery, history, and a slower pace.

❤️ A romantic getaway for a couple looking to reconnect, relax, and make memories together.

The destination matters.

The accommodations matter.

The experiences matter.

But the best vacations happen when all of those pieces fit the people taking the trip.

That’s my favorite part of being a travel advisor: asking the right questions, finding the right fit, and helping create memories that last long after the suitcase is unpacked.

I traded the Caribbean for a Montana wedding and a day exploring Yellowstone National Park this weekend.

So long, Montana. You gave us snow, rain, and just enough sunshine to make the mountains glow. From breathtaking countryside to Old Faithful, bison, elk, bighorn sheep, and even a baby bear, it was a trip full of unforgettable moments.

Until next time, Big Sky Country.🌄
