🚍 SERVICE ALERT – ROUTE 4 UPDATE 🚍

Attention Route 4 Riders (Blandford/Fort Lee/Hopewell Crossings)

Beginning Monday, July 6, 2026, Route 4 will no longer serve Richmond Avenue as part of a route adjustment.

New boarding locations will be:
📍 Washington Street at Henrico Street
📍 E. Washington Street at Ash Street
📍 E. Washington Street at Lakemont Avenue

⚠️ Please Note:

* All bus stops along Richmond Avenue will be discontinued, and bus stop signs will be removed.
* The stop currently located on Courthouse Road will be relocated to the corner of E. Washington Street and Courthouse Road.

We appreciate your patience and understanding as we make these service improvements. Please plan ahead and use the new designated bus stop locations beginning July 6.

📢Petersburg Area Transit (PAT) is pleased to announce that its extended evening service will continue without interruption following the arrival of critical bus parts needed to restore several vehicles to service.

PAT’s maintenance team is working diligently to bring three buses back online, allowing the agency to maintain evening operations while continuing to provide safe and reliable transportation.

Since launching, PAT’s evening service has provided more than 13,000 rides, demonstrating the community’s strong reliance on expanded transit access.

PAT remains committed to providing safe, reliable, and accessible transportation for residents throughout Petersburg and appreciates the community’s patience and support as repairs continue.

Minimum Qualifications:

Valid Virginia Driver’s License or Commercial Driver’s License (CDL)
CDL Class B with Passenger (P) Endorsement (preferred)
Those who do not have a current CDL, must have a CDL Class B permit with a passenger endorsement.
