With the recent Executive Order approving payment for TSA officers, and in accordance with federal guidelines, all donation programs have now concluded.

Many TSA Questions During this Busy Spring Break!

We are not seeing the 3 and 4 hour wait times that other larger airports are seeing.

Thank you to those that have reached out to support our TSA officers! The Airport Offices are accepting Gas and/or Grocery gift cards (up to $20). You can drop them off at the Airport Administration Offices Mon-Fri 8:30-4. If outside of our office hours, you can go to our Airport Operations Offices to the Right of the ticket counters to drop off gift cards. Thank you so much for all of your help!

NeeDohs and NeeDon'ts of Spring Break...

Doh Don't Fly... Needohs are considered gel and can't be carried on the airplane if not 3.4 oz or less. Best to keep them home and take a hard plastic fidgit instead.

Arrive 2 hours Early for your flight. 3 and 4 hours is NOT necessary, but 2 hours is JUST right!

If you want to DOHnate to TSA during the shutdown, gift cards to specific stores or gas stations are best. Please leave them with the Metropolitan Airport Authority of Peoria attention administration office at our ops office to the right of the ticket counters.

Question: How early should you arrive for your flight at PIA?

With larger airports reporting wait times of 3 and 4 hours at TSA, PIA does not usually get that backed up. But we can get a bit of a line, especially during busy times like Spring Break. Travel Tips at PIA:
🕑 Arrive 2 hours prior to your flight
🚗 Give yourself enough time to find a parking spot
🪪 Make sure you have a RealID or ConfirmID confirmation

City of Peoria to Host Government Contract and Opportunity Expo

Event on March 26 will unveil new buying plan and provide guidance on government contracting

February 17, 2026 (PEORIA, IL) The City of Peoria, in collaboration with the NAACP PEORIA BRANCH, Illinois State Black Chamber of Commerce, Minority Business Development Center, Illinois APEX Accelerator at Bradley University, the Peoria Area Chamber of Commerce, and the Women's Business Development Center, is proud to host the Government Contract and Opportunity Expo on March 26, 2026, at the Peoria Civic Center (Room 200) from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. The event is free and food and refreshments will be provided.

This event is designed to connect small business owners, entrepreneurs, and people seeking to do work with government organizations with valuable resources, partnerships, and opportunities to thrive in government contracting. The Expo also offers a unique opportunity for businesses to expand their networks, access opportunities, and gain the knowledge needed to take their business to the next level. Participating agencies include CityLink Peoria, Greater Peoria Sanitary District, Illinois Central College, Peoria Public Schools District 150, The Metropolitan Airport Authority of Peoria (Fly PIA), Peoria County Government, Peoria Park District, representatives from area financial institutions, and more.

Why Attend?
Participants will gain insights into government procurement, have the opportunity to register with PeAP, the city of Peoria Business Registry, and learn about opportunities with other government organizations. The city will also launch the Peoria Buying Plan, which features information on procurement opportunities for government agencies, in addition to checklists for first-time bidders, and other resources for small business owners.
