Tracing its history back to the mid-1700s, the Port of Pensacola has evolved into northwest Florida’s leading deep-water port. With its eight deep-draft berths and more than 400,000 square feet of covered storage, the Port is located on the Gulf of Mexico just 11 miles from the sea buoy. The 50-acre facility offers a Foreign Trade Zone (FTZ #249), an Enterprise Zone (EZ #1702), and stevedoring and marine terminal services for all descriptions of bulk, breakbulk and unitized freight.

Not every day Pensacola gets a visitor like this.

The ODIN, a Borr Drilling premium jack-up rig, is docked at the Port of Pensacola before heading out to the Gulf of America.

Be sure to stop by the Palafox Pier before its gone to get an up-close look!

The Port of Pensacola was proud to welcome representatives from the Florida Commerce Office of Long-Term Resiliency — Garnet Nevels, Amanda Iscrupe, and Jody McCormick — for a tour today of the transformative construction progress underway at the facility through the Community Development Block Grant-funded Road and Rail Rehabilitation Project.

These critical investments are helping the Port address long-needed infrastructure improvements, including extensive paving and waterline repairs, the replacement of rail lines to maximize operational efficiency, and enhancements to the Port's cathodic protection system to better safeguard infrastructure against future storm damage.

We are grateful to Florida Commerce for its continued support of the Port of Pensacola and its commitment to strengthening Florida's transportation and economic infrastructure. We look forward to building on this partnership and pursuing future opportunities that advance the Port's resilience, efficiency, and long-term growth.

Wrapping up May on a good note with some excellent coverage of the Port of Pensacola this past week. Our thanks to Andrew McKay and NewsRadio 92.3 for highlighting two key events and taking the time to educate his listeners on why ports matter, specifically what the Port of Pensacola does for this city and region.

Check out his coverage of National Maritime Day starting at minute 31 highlighting Florida Department of Transportation Seaports Office Director, Ms. Lauren Rand, and her remarks as the guest speaker.

National Maritime Day is a reminder of just how much this industry means to our city.

This week, maritime leaders, partners, and advocates came together to celebrate the people and work that keep our waterfront moving. The Port of Pensacola was proud to be part of the conversation.

Thank you to everyone who joined us and Ms. Lauren Rand, Florida Department of Transportation Seaports Office Director, for giving the Keynote speech. Congratulations to this year's award winners who represent the strong maritime community in Pensacola and well done to the Pensacola Propeller Club - Bay Area Port of Historic Pensacola for organizing this great event.
