Good morning. CHAIN LAW IN EFFECT on Meacham from MP 226-261 both East and Westbound. At this time Westbound is closed from Pendleton to LaGrande due to multiple wreaks. EASTBOUND is still open. HIGHWAY CLOSURE UPDATE, I-84 EASTBOUND CLOSED BETWEEN PENDLETON AND BAKER CITY

EASTERN OREGON -- UPDATE 9:10 PM (From ODOT) Eastbound I-84 is closed between Pendleton and Baker City (milepost 216-304) due to multiple spun-out and stuck vehicles blocking the interstate. Winter weather is prompting chain conditions throughout the corridor. Use Tripcheck.com for chain requirement locations and information and plan accordingly. Local highways are not viable detour routes for interstate traffic. Expect eastbound closure to last well into the night. Westbound I-84 has reopened between Baker City and La Grande.

I-84 Westbound is closed between Baker City (Milepost 302) and La Grande (Milepost 265) due to winter weather conditions and numerous spun-out vehicles. US-30 is open to local traffic only and is NOT a valid bypass for highway traffic.

No estimated length of closure is avalible at this time. Use caution and avoid highway travel if possible.

As of 0640 Packed snow at Meacham. Still no chain restrictions in place yet. We are gonna hang out for another 40 minutes and see what happens if nothing then head down the mountain. Hope you all have a good day and safe travels!

The road report has not been updated since 9pm last night but it is snowing on Meacham with packed snow so we are gearing up and heading out. Chain restrictions should be in place shortly! Call us if you need us! 541-314-2564!

Early morning snow rolling in on the mountains early tomorrow morning!! We will be at deadman’s pass by 6am to start chaining trucks! If it dumped like it did today we may be out there by 5am. We are watching the storm closely and as soon as the chain law goes up we will be there! I’ll update the weather and road report at 0530. The freeway is now open both East and West from Pendleton to Ontario . Drive safe and have a good night! Don’t forget to call us if you need us!

Shout out ODOT for calling me out to the mountain today and to the Oregon State Police Trooper who gave a driver our phone number for a BIG chain sale!! I appreciate you guys! Be safe and as always I’m proud of my partnership with OSP & ODOT!
