Our Italy Destination Expert Support Officer, Lorenza, returned to Race for the Cure in Rome this year with the same heart that has brought her back to the event for four years, but this time the experience carried even more meaning. For the second year in a row, she took on the competitive 10K, sharing the day with her father, while her mother and sister waited proudly at the finish line. 🏁
For Lorenza, the race is not simply about sport. It is a personal challenge, yes, a reason to leave the desk behind, lace up her running shoes, and work toward a goal. But beyond that, it is her way of standing beside women affected by breast cancer and supporting a cause that touches countless lives. In her own quiet and determined way, she shows that not everyone needs to be a doctor or a scientist to make a difference. Sometimes, showing up is its own form of strength. 🎀
That is what makes Race for the Cure so moving. Some take part to remember, some to support loved ones, some to challenge themselves, and some simply to be part of something meaningful. In Rome, surrounded by a sea of pink, those different reasons come together in one shared purpose: hope, solidarity, and the belief that every step matters.
This year, that feeling became even more personal for Lorenza. Running alongside her father turned the race into more than a competition. It became a family moment, held together by encouragement, pride, and love. At the finish line, with her mother and sister there to welcome them, the day carried the kind of warmth that stays with people long after the race is over. 👨👩👧
At JayWay Travel, we are proud to see Lorenza represent not only our team, but also the spirit of compassion and community that events like this inspire. And although pink may not be her favorite color, she wore it with pride for a cause close to so many hearts. 💗
