On August 6, 2021, we released a video of a subject who was involved in a fatal hit and run collision in the 800 block of Preston Avenue that occurred on July 30, 2021. After asking for your assistance in identifying and locating the suspect, we began to receive multiple tips and leads through our social media platforms.
Officers with our Traffic Unit began to follow up on these leads, while continuing to gather information and analyze video of the incident. The Pasadena Police Department’s Proactive Police Unit also assisted by providing valuable investigative support. Through a collaborative effort, which included your help, the suspect has been located and arrested - Jezel Cardenas has been charged with F.S.R.A. (Fail to Stop and Render Aid) Accident Involving Death, and Possession of a Controlled Substance.
We would like to thank our loyal followers for sharing our post and providing anonymous tips through Crime Stoppers, which ultimately led to us solving this case. We hope that this arrest provides some comfort to the family, who has been grieving the loss of their loved one during this most difficult time.
