Doulas are the ones who will always be PATIENT-FIRST — even when the system isn’t.

They’re in the room to advocate, educate, support, and make sure a mother’s voice doesn’t get lost in the process.

Because birth shouldn’t be about what’s most convenient for the hospital.

It should be about what’s best for the patient.

And doulas who understand how to advocate effectively can change the entire birth experience.

Interview your providers.
Do your research.

Your providers oversee your pregnancy, labor and delivery!! Make sure they are like-minded or find 1 that is. They are out there, I promise.

I can't love this birth plan enough!! Thank you, Tampa General Hospital, for listening to your patients and for including doulas as part of their birthing education.

Not everyone can afford to hire a doula or access one through private funding organizations. The birth plan offered by TGH gives patients the opportunity to talk with their provider about birth preferences they may not have known were possible.
