A behind-the-scenes look at our latest walkthrough shoot aboard the 37L. 🎥👀

A great walkthrough is more than simply walking through a yacht with a camera. It takes planning, scripting, and the right on-camera presence to tell the story of the boat in a way that keeps buyers engaged.

At The Yacht Edit, we can provide a professional host for your walkthroughs, or work directly with your brokers to help them feel confident on camera and communicate what makes each listing unique.

The result is content that showcases not just the yacht, but the people and expertise behind it.

Most people think the world's largest superyachts spend their summers in the Mediterranean, but every year, many of them quietly make their way to Newport, Rhode Island.

For a few months, this historic New England town becomes home to billionaires, some of the world's most iconic superyachts, and many of the biggest names in the yachting industry, and hardly anyone knows it's happening.

Every yacht builder is taught the same lesson: market the yacht on her specs. Sanlorenzo did the opposite, and it became the best turnaround story in the industry.

When Sanlorenzo listed itself on the Milan stock exchange in 2019, its shares opened at €16. This year they have climbed to ~€40, and they did it while the company was quietly spending less on advertising its yachts and more on the cultural ecosystem surrounding it.
That same conviction is built into the design philosophy of the yachts themselves. The first of a new Heritage Series, the 26 metre SHE, is a hybrid navetta drawn from 1960s Italian glamour, a deliberate turn away from the taller, faster, bigger race every other yard is running. Sanlorenzo designs the way it markets.

None of it is really about the art or the styling. It is the clearest proof I have seen that a yacht is a brand you compound over years, not a spec sheet you shout over rivals.

The yards winning right now are selling an identity, not an engine. Which builder do you think does it best? Tell me below. That shift, from selling specs to building a brand people talk about and want to buy into, is what we do at The Yacht Edit.

When Below Deck came knocking, some owners panicked. They would let the cameras aboard, but only if the yacht's name was changed first. Hide the boat, protect the reputation.

They needn't have bothered. The yachts that let the world watch became the most wanted superyachts on the water.

Look at who the producers kept inviting back: 3 yachts, 3 seasons each. BG Charade, disguised as Valor. Starship, disguised as My Seanna. And St David, who never hid at all. Parsifal III went further still, 4 seasons under her own name.

The payoff is not subtle. St David, the largest yacht the show has ever filmed, still charters at 345,000 euros a week. The first yacht ever to appear, in season 1 was sold soon after for around 15 million dollars, cameras and all.
2.4 million people watch every week, most of whom never knew you could charter a yacht until they saw one on screen. Ask Parsifal's owner why he agreed and he does not dress it up: "I did it for the money."

The lesson has nothing to do with reality TV. The yachts people see are the yachts people book. The rest stay beautiful but invisible.

1942 is an official sponsor of the , and for the week of the final they built something far bigger than a logo on the field. They took over Chelsea Piers on New York's Hudson River and turned it into a private, invite-only destination called the Port of Champions, running from 13 to 19 July.

The gold superyacht in the video is the centrepiece, but the activation runs across the whole waterfront and into the Chelsea Piers driving range beside it. Across the week there are match-day viewing parties, late-night sets from big-name DJs, tequila tastings in a hidden speakeasy on board, dining put together with TAO Group, Yes Chef and Noble 33, and podcast and content studios set up so guests leave with something to share.

What I find clever is the restraint. Most sponsors spend their money chasing reach, getting in front of as many people as possible. Don Julio has gone the other way. The event is closed, you cannot buy your way in, and that is exactly what makes people want to be there. The only part the rest of us can get hold of is the limited World Cup bottle, which is on shelves now.

This is the kind of work we do at .yacht.edit, putting yachts at the centre of a brand's story. If you own a yacht that could carry a brand like this, or you are a brand looking for the right one, reach out.

Most yacht brands are still paying for the wrong number.

Here is the set-up behind what you just watched. For its Cannes activation, Garnier put a group of UK micro influencers alongside one macro name, Amelia Olivia at 1.5 million followers, aboard a 92-foot Sunseeker supplied by MEROS, the co-ownership platform.
The yacht was MEROS-branded throughout, so it was working as the location and as the product at the same time.

One day on the water, three brands stacked, two tiers of creator, each doing a job the other could not.

That mix is the entire point. The macro name buys reach, a million impressions in an afternoon. The micro creators buy something reach cannot, which is trust, and on a purchase the size of a charter or a co-ownership share, trust is what moves someone from watching to messaging.

The numbers are not close. Micro programmes return 5.78 dollars in earned media value for every dollar spent, against 2.90 for the paid social average. Their audiences engage at 3.86% on Instagram while the big accounts sit near 1.2%, at a fraction of the cost, which is why 73% of brands now weight their budgets toward that tier.

The lesson for anyone marketing a yacht is not to pick a side.

Reach and conversion come from different places, so the brands winning right now deploy both on purpose, exactly as Garnier and MEROS did here. That is what I build for yacht brands through The Yacht Edit influencer division. If that is a gap in your own marketing, DM me.

Vertical integration is the quiet trend reshaping luxury, and yachting is where it is playing out hardest. The old model was simple: a fashion house lent its name to a yacht or a regatta, took the prestige, and let the shipyard keep the margin and the client. That is over.

LVMH has owned Royal Van Lent, the yard behind Feadship, since 2008. Oniverse bought Cantiere del Pardo in 2023. The Loro Piana family now holds majority control of Cantiere delle Marche.

These are not sponsorships, they are acquisitions of the production itself.
The logic is sharp. The person spending 30,000 dollars on a vicuña coat and the person chartering a 40 million dollar explorer are usually the same person. The brand used to lose that client the moment they went looking for a boat.

Owning the yard keeps them inside one world from the coat to the keel, and turns every hull into a showroom that sails.

That gap, between how yachts are built and how they are actually sold, is the reason I built The Yacht Edit. I market yachts as brands and experiences, not as spec sheets. If you build, broker or own them, send The Yacht Edit a DM. , link in bio.
