Qualifications to be a School Bus Driver:

1. Eyes of an Eagle...
Able to spot children in the dark with oncoming traffic blinding you with hi-beams.
2. Psychic...
Able to read children's thoughts, even before they speak.
3. Counsoler...
Must be able to calmly help a child in distress.
4. P.hd in Physics...
The ability to put 77 kids all in the front seat of the bus as demanded by their mothers.
5. Doctor...
Able to fix all wounds, real or imagined, with a sympathetic face and a bandaid.
6. Human encyclopedia...
Able to answer over 1,000 questions before reaching the first stop.
7. Must be able to be mom, dad,best friend and worst nightmare all at the same time.
8. Orator...
Must be able to relay 8 hours of events in a few seconds to waiting parents.
9. Law man...
Must be able to separate the good hombres from the bad, while touching neither.
Finally:
10. ABSOLUTELY REQUIRED....
A Heart of gold, nerves of steel, hearing that can detect one child crying out of 70 yelling and screaming kids. All while driving down the road with a line of cars a mile long, behind you.

Welcome to December!

Some dates to remember:

No 4:30 late activity for the week starting December 17th, 2018...

Last day of school before winter break will be an early dismissal Friday December 21, 2018...buses will leave town to take the students home at approximately 1:00 pm.

Classes will resume on Monday January 7, 2019...

News from ADOT this morning:

Yesterday, October 3rd, at about 11:37 p.m., troopers responded to the report of a collision on southbound US 89, milepost 471 (near Cameron, AZ). As they were responding, they were advised that one vehicle might have run into a large sink hole.

On arriving at the scene, troopers found the area had experienced heavy rain and a portion of US 89 had washed out, creating a large sink hole.

US 89 is closed at this time. The southbound lanes are closed at the US 89/SR 160 junction and the northbound lanes are closed at Cameron. This will be an extended closure.

Preliminary information about the collision is that it involved two vehicles. There has been one confirmed fatality and others transported from the scene for treatment of injuries.

Welcome to October!

Here are some important transportation dates this month:

October 8th-October 11th, no 4:30 after school program.

Early dismissal Thursday October 11th, buses will leave town around 2:15 pm.

No school Friday October 12th and Monday October 15th.
School will be back in session Tuesday October 16th.

Welcome to the 2018-2019 Page Unified School District School Year!

The new school year will "kick-off" with Freshman Orientation on Friday August 3, 2018.

The buses will pickup one and a half hours earlier than the usual schedule. We will drop the Freshman at Page High School at 8:45 am and pick them up in the afternoon at 12:30 pm, leaving Page High School for home at 12:35 pm.

The regular school year will start on Tuesday August 7, 2018.
It will be a regular day with no late activities. This year Monday through Thursday all schools will dismiss at 3:00 pm. Friday's will continue to be a shorter day, with schools dismissing at 1:30 pm.

2018 Page Unified School District Summer School Transportation Information...

Summer School starts Tuesday May 29th and goes until Thursday June 28, 2018. For the first week of summer school only, summer school will be held Tuesday through Friday, and for the remainder of the summer school session, classes will be held Monday through Thursday.

Page High School and Page Middle School students will be attending summer school at the Page High School campus with buses arriving at 7:30 am.

Desert View, Lake View, and Kinder Camp students will be arriving at Lake View at 7:40 am.

For the return home, we will pick up the Lake View, Desert View, and Kinder Camp riders at 12:15 pm, and the High School, Middle School riders at 12:30 pm.

The main stops for summer school will be as follows, Crossroads, Tsaa Bi Kinn, County Line will be picked up and dropped at Crossroads Market. The bus will leave for Page at 6:30 am.

Kaibeto area will be picked up and dropped at Kaibeto Market. The bus will leave for Page at 6:40 am.

Cedar Ridge (MP505) will be picked up at 6:40 am, Bitter Springs (at the entrance) will be picked up and leave for Page at 7:00 am.Anyone in the Marble Canyon or Navajo Springs (89A) area will catch the bus at the entrance to Bitter Spring Housing. Anyone living near Gap, or on Coppermine Road (N20) south of the Coppermine Chapter House will need to catch the bus at Cedar Ridge stop, leaving at 6:40 am.

Anyone living north of the Coppermine Chapter House, toward Lechee, on Coppermine Road (N20) will catch the bus at Monkey Stadium (MP29.8), the bus will leave for Page at 6:30.
This same bus will pick up road stops only, for all Lechee, then travel on to Ranchettes, stopping at 261 Appaloosa, and Pinto, then Whispering Sands Apartments, and Vermillion View Apartments.

Please have your students to the stop ten (10) minutes prior to the posted arrival time for the bus.
