Trucker protest: Convoys Head to DC but With Less Force Than in Canada
The US trucks might not receive the support seen in further north.

Protesters demonstrating against COVID-19 vaccine requirements occupied parts of Ottawa, the country's capital, and blockaded major international crossings for weeks in February. Police in Canada cleared most of the demonstrators a week ago, bringing the city and the rest of the country back to normal. US truckers began their convoys in the past few days, but they have yet to capture the focus of the country as the Russian invasion of Ukraine continues.

The Commercial Vehicle Safety Alliance has announced this year’s International Roadcheck inspection blitz will be held May 17-19 with a focus on wheel ends.

During the 72-hour inspection initiative, commercial motor vehicle inspectors in Canada, Mexico and the U.S. will conduct North American Standard Inspections of trucks, buses and drivers at weigh and inspection stations, on roving patrols, and at temporary inspection sites.
