The public is invited to tour the NOAA Ship Thomas Jefferson on Wednesday, September 2, 2026, from 2:00 PM to 6:00 PM. The vessel will be docked at the Port of Oswego West Pier, located at 1 W 1st Street, Oswego, NY. Parking is available at the H. Lee White Maritime Museum. Visitors can tour the ship to learn about the hydrographic survey mission of the NOAA Ship Thomas Jefferson in Lake Ontario and engage with representatives from Lake Ontario National Marine Sanctuary and other regional NOAA offices.

The Port of Oswego Authority is expanding its storage capacity by leasing property on the old Hammermill Paper Co. site.

"The lease of the property increases the port’s operational footprint and logistics capacity by about 7 acres to its current roughly 35 acres, Port CEO Tom Drumm said."
