Arriving to a different service call, we have been directed to what is thought to be an abandoned vehicle?

The description of the "driver" was described as suspicious, Maybe even distraught, scruffy, but full of life.

We found the vehicle unlocked. Made a complete search. Nothing worth while was found. Just an old Kenworth that appears to have finally been given up on, and ready for retirement.

If you know the owner might call and let then know it's parked in multiple parking spots, and has been claimed as an eye soar! We did not impound yet, hopefully they will return.

As far as I am concerned this a decent truck to just leave randomly parked awkwardly.

Robert Davis, this is for you buddy.

I’d like to take a moment to share something. Every so often, an opportunity comes along that deserves to be recognized, and this is one of them. This photo was recently shared on Google by a truck driver and his wife whom we rescued off the pass. He asked if he could take it, and we agreed.

I’m Jason, on the right. My truck boss and yard manager, Robert Davis, is on the left.

Robert has been with me for more than 14 years and has been through every high and low along the way. I hired him as a mechanic, and from the start he worked tirelessly, day in and day out. As I got to know him, I learned that he and his family were going through serious financial hardship. Life had been hard on them, but he never stopped working. At the time, I had a tow truck that needed a major rebuild after being stolen and recovered. I told him to rebuild it as my primary truck and give it everything it needed. He put it together with meticulous care—every light, every chain, every accessory. It turned into a very nice truck.

The truck was a 1990 F450 with a Vulcan wrecker, a 460 gas engine, a 5-speed manual transmission, a manual PTO, and added LPR cameras so it could also be used for repossession work. Once I made sure it was fully outfitted and running properly, I dedicated the truck to him. That gave him another way to work through his challenges. He drove that truck day and night for "FOUR YEARS" without taking a day off, and together they helped put his family in a much better place. He ran it for about seven years, got back on his feet, worn out 3 more trucks while he has worked here. He is still here every day and remains on call as needed—although now he does take a couple of weeks of vacation here and there.

Robert, thank you for being here all this time. I know it hasn’t always been easy, but we made it through to the other side. Now a new generation is here in a new time, and neither of us ever imagined we’d be the old guys at the shop. Yet here we are, still getting more done than most. We’ve been through a lot—some crazy situations and some wild places. Thanks, man for all the years.
