A lot of people have asked me lately, “Why do you make wax melts?”
The answer is actually pretty personal.
I love traveling. I love exploring new places, experiencing new things, and making memories along the way. One of the things I’ve always found amazing about scent is how quickly it can take you somewhere else.
Sometimes it reminds you of a vacation you never wanted to end. Sometimes it takes you back to a place you visited years ago. And sometimes it brings back something as simple as a childhood memory you hadn’t thought about in forever.
That’s what I want my wax melts to do.
I work hard to make sure every scent I create has some kind of meaning behind it. I don’t want it to just smell good. I want you to put a melt in your warmer, catch that fragrance in the room, and for just a moment escape from everyday life and go somewhere else.
Maybe it takes you to the beach.
Maybe it feels like walking through a Christmas market.
Maybe it reminds you of a cozy cabin in the mountains, a beautiful spring morning, a bakery you visited on vacation, or a place you used to go with someone you love.
There’s another reason I do this too.
I work extremely hard in my career, and coming home and creating these melts has become incredibly therapeutic for me. There’s something about experimenting with fragrances, creating a scent, pouring the wax, designing the labels, and eventually packing an order that allows me to completely switch gears.
And I genuinely smile every time another order comes through. Knowing that something I made is going into someone else’s home is still pretty amazing to me.
The purchases also directly help support Holmes Away From Home and our YouTube adventures. Every order helps us continue traveling, creating videos, exploring new places, and hopefully finding even more experiences that inspire the next scent.
This week alone, I’ve shipped out more than 100 scents, and I’ve already ordered several completely different fragrances that I’ll be experimenting with just in time for Spooky Season and Fall! 🎃🍂
Maybe one day this little hobby turns into something much bigger. I certainly hope it does.
But for now, I’m having an absolute blast creating them, sharing them with you, and seeing where this journey takes us.
