Ten years ago today, our community was forever changed.

On June 12, 2016, 49 lives were taken at Pulse. Today, we pause to remember them, honor their lives, and reflect on the profound loss felt throughout our community.

We hold in our hearts the families and loved ones who continue to grieve, the 53 injured and survivors whose lives were forever changed, and the first responders and medical professionals who answered the call that morning.

Pulse was a place where people gathered to find connection, acceptance, friendship, and joy. As we mark this solemn anniversary, we remember those who were taken too soon and acknowledge the lasting impact this tragedy has had on so many.

Today, we remember. We honor. We will not forget.

🎶 Summer nights, local music, and community connection in S**o 🎶

Our arts series continues this June with a sweet lineup of local artists performing throughout the district — creating even more opportunities to gather, support local businesses, and enjoy the creative energy that makes S**o special.

Whether you’re meeting friends for a drink, taking the family out for ice cream, or simply looking for a fun way to enjoy live music this summer, we invite you to spend some time with us right here in the neighborhood. We love connecting our businesses and arts communities in ways everyone can enjoy because stronger communities are connected communities. 🧡

This series is made possible through the generous support of United Arts of Central Florida and Orlando Health, helping bring accessible arts programming and community experiences to S**o.

🧡 Tuesday, June 9 - S**o Volunteer Interest Night 🧡

Want to get more involved in the community? Interested in helping shape future events, public art, beautification projects, business support efforts, and more across the district?

Join us for a free S**o Volunteer Interest Night at RockPit Brewing & Distilling on Tuesday, June 9 from 5:30–7 PM to learn about ways to get involved and connect with others who care about this community.

S**o is powered by volunteers. Last year alone, community members contributed more than 2,000 volunteer hours helping make the district more connected, vibrant, welcoming, and supportive for businesses and residents alike.

Whether you have a few hours a year or want to get more deeply involved, there’s a place for everyone to plug in and make a meaningful impact.

Afterwards, stay and enjoy free live music by Jordan Foley from 7–9 PM, generously sponsored by United Arts of Central Florida and Orlando Health.

This weekend, we’re honored to kick off our partnership with United Arts of Central Florida to come alongside this meaningful opportunity celebrating Space Station Studio 🧡

Full Circle – Twelve Year Anniversary Exhibition

Twelve years of community. One celebration.

Join us in celebrating this major milestone for Space Station Studio and take in the group exhibition honoring every artist who has helped shape the space over the past twelve years, featuring over 100 local artists coming together in one show.

The two days of programming includes live music, live painting, and on-site portrait experiences throughout the weekend.

☕️ Congratulations, S**o Squeeze of the Month Ligature Coffee!

This month, we’re proud to spotlight Ligature Coffee, a neighborhood coffee shop built around quality, transparency, and community connection.

Founded by barista and roaster Chris Mock in 2017, Ligature began with a simple goal: serve great coffee while doing right by the people who grow it. Focused on transparent sourcing and equitable partnerships across the supply chain, Ligature has grown into one of Orlando’s standout specialty coffee brands.

Together, owners Chris Mock and Andrew Irvin bring that vision to S**o — creating a welcoming, everyday gathering place designed to feel rooted in the neighborhood. “We looked for a spot where we could fill a need rather than opening in an area already crowded with coffee shops.”

They chose S**o because of its strong sense of community and opportunity to bring something fresh to the district. Now, Ligature Coffee has become a go-to neighborhood spot where residents, professionals, and visitors alike can connect over thoughtfully crafted coffee.

They are consistently open 7 days a week from 7am - 3pm and we’re proud to have them as part of S**o and the Orlando Main Streets family!

Located at 3333 S Orange Ave, Sabai brings authentic Thai street food rooted in family recipes and generations of culinary tradition. The restaurant is family-owned and operated by Bill, Viradee, and Alex, with a focus on handmade dishes, bold flavors, and a welcoming neighborhood dining experience.

Fittingly, “Sabai” is associated with comfort, ease, and a sense of well-being — something that clearly carries through in both the atmosphere and hospitality the family has created.

New locally owned businesses like Sabai help bring more energy and activity to the district, giving residents and visitors more places to gather, dine, and connect. Each new opening adds to the unique character of S**o and helps continue the momentum of thoughtful growth and reinvestment happening throughout the corridor.

This family-owned restaurant is bringing authentic Jamaican cuisine, bold flavors, and warm hospitality to the neighborhood, and their grand opening is happening this weekend!

Go check out this revitalized space, upgraded interiors, and a new back patio area, great for large gatherings.

This week, S**o leaders had the opportunity to co-host a S**o Neighbor Meet & Greet with United Agains Poverty - Orlando ☕️

It was a great morning spent connecting with neighbors, business leaders, and community partners — sharing more about our work and having meaningful conversations about how we continue to support the S**o and greater Orlando community together. These conversation reinforce something important: strong communities are built through connection, coordination, and a willingness to work together.

We also reflected on moments where effective partnerships come to life — from storm response and sandbag distribution to coming together during the SNAP/EBT pause to support those in need. These are real examples of how this community shows up.

Thank you to everyone who joined us and contributed to the conversation. We’re grateful for these partnerships and look forward to continuing the work together.
