When you support your community, they support you. This is especially true within the military community. Our museum has had great partnerships with VFW's, American Legion's, Veteran Motorcycle groups, etc. since it's establishment.

Recently "Stumps" one of the members from CVMA Reg. TM 20-16 saw some maintenance that needed to be taken care of. It was one that didn't fall under our jurisdiction. Two of our three directional signs to the museum had seen better days.

Stumps reached out to County to see what they could do to have the signs replaced. Amazingly, County was swift with the replacement.

We at the Corporal Larry E Smedley National Vietnam War Museum wanted to say, Thank you Stumps and CVMA 20-16 for seeing a need and being proactive. Thank you for having our 6 and for your continued support.

Starting something new for our followers, Museum Monday. We would like to start highlighting pieces in our museum and give you a bit of history so it and the men and women who so bravely fought are never forgotten or erased. Somethings old, some new. Here is an example of both. This Monday, we will be recognizing the flight jacket. Next week we will get into the history of our Huey and the plans we have for it in the coming year.

Our former President Rick Templin is seen here with our newly procured priceless flight jacket. This jacket has been donated/gifted to our museum by Karen Kaiser. It was found amongst her brother Frank Andrew Kaiser's (known as Andy to his friends and family) possessions when he passed away last year.

The jacket has its original milspec tags dating it to 21 Sep 1964. Although not much is known how Andy came to be the caretaker of this gem since Vietnam, we do know he had to have known the significance of importance it was. It was kept in amazing condition for its age.

We only have 3 points of provenance for this jacket. The milspec, the squadron and Andy. Although it is not much, this jackets history and legacy will reside in our museum for many years to come.

Come out and visit us, we have many stories and fabulous curators on-site to give you a tour. Our museum is open Sat & Sun from noon to 5. As always, admission is free.

VIETNAM AND ALL VETERANS OF CENTRAL FL (aka The Bunker), want to thank you for stepping up to help us continue to serve and educate. Without you we could not do all the wonderful things we do to support our Veterans and community.

Thank you Jim Fryar, Kelly Slaughter, Eduardo & Mary Regno and Carol Porter for your generous donation.

Milton Smith visited our museum a while back. We received this fabulous video he made of our grounds, The Corporal Larry E Smedley National Vietnam War Museum / The Bunker. It's wonderful to think we made that much of an impact that Milton felt the need to make the video in appreciation to our Veterans past, present and future.

Thank you Milton!
