Some trips turn into traditions without you ever really planning for them to. ❤️

North Georgia has become one of those places for our family.

We've been visiting the area for years, and no matter how many times we go back, I'm still happy with a cabin in the mountains, a cup of coffee, and somewhere outside to explore. 😂☕🏔️

🥾 Hiking trails.
💦 Waterfalls.
🌄 Mountain views.
🏡 Cozy cabin days.
🛍️ Little mountain towns.
🍽️ Finding somewhere local to eat.
🚗 And plenty of driving around just to see what we find.

We've made so many memories there over the years that looking through old pictures feels like flipping through different chapters of our family's life.

And I think that's what makes a repeat destination special.

Eventually, you're not just going back because you like the place.

You're going back because part of your family's story lives there too. ❤️

I know flying gets you there faster...

But I genuinely LOVE a good road trip. 🚗❤️

There's something about loading everything up, grabbing coffee, turning on the music, and knowing we're headed somewhere different.

And I'm definitely not the person who only cares about getting from Point A to Point B. 😂

☕ I want the random coffee stop.
📍 I want to pull over when we see something interesting.
🍽️ I want to find somewhere local to eat.
🌄 I want the scenic route.
🛍️ I want to wander through the little town we didn't originally plan to visit.
📸 And yes, we're stopping at the overlook.

Sometimes those unplanned stops become some of my favorite memories from the entire trip.

Of course, several hours into the drive when everyone is tired and asking "HOW MUCH LONGER?" I may temporarily question my love of road trips. 😂

But then we get where we're going and somehow I'm ready to do it all over again.

Planning an international vacation? Check your travel documents BEFORE you start counting down the days. 🌎📘

Your passport simply being unexpired doesn't necessarily mean you're ready to travel.

Before an international trip, check:

📘 Your passport expiration date.
🌎 The entry requirements for your destination.
📅 Any passport validity requirements beyond your travel dates.
📄 Whether you need a visa or travel authorization.
👨‍👩‍👧‍👦 Documentation requirements for children traveling internationally.
✈️ Any requirements for countries you're connecting through, not just your final destination.

Requirements vary by destination and can change, so don't rely on what was required the last time you traveled or what someone told you online.

💡 Travel Tip: Start checking documentation early. Discovering a passport or entry requirement problem a few days before departure is NOT the way anyone wants to start vacation. 😅

🏨 Two resorts can look almost identical online... and be COMPLETELY different vacations.

When I'm comparing resorts for a client, I'm looking at a lot more than which one has the prettiest pool pictures. 😂

I'm paying attention to things like:

📍 Location • How close is it to the things you actually want to do?
🛏️ Room options • Will everyone actually be comfortable?
🍽️ Dining • What's available and does it fit how you like to vacation?
👨‍👩‍👧‍👦 Who it's designed for • Family friendly, adults only, couples, groups, etc.
🏖️ Beach & pools • Because not every "beachfront" or resort pool experience is the same.
✨ Activities & amenities • What's included and what will you actually use?
🚗 Transportation • How are you getting there and how easy is it to explore beyond the resort?
💰 Overall value • Not just which room has the lowest price.

The cheapest option isn't automatically the best value, and the most expensive one isn't automatically the best fit either.

The goal is finding the one that makes sense for YOUR trip. ❤️

That's one of my favorite parts of vacation planning. Taking all of those options and narrowing them down so you're not sitting there with 27 tabs open wondering which one you're supposed to choose. 😂
