100 years of Clay High School—and a room filled with proof that its impact reaches far beyond the classroom. 💚💛

This morning, OEDF was proud to join nearly 200 alumni, students, educators, community leaders and elected officials for Clay High School’s Centennial Breakfast Celebration.

The morning began with fellowship and a walk down Memory Lane, followed by the Presentation of Colors, the National Anthem and breakfast. Centennial remarks brought together voices representing Clay’s remarkable past, strong present and promising future: former Superintendent Robert Pfefferle, former Assistant Principal and Principal Loren Dirr, Board of Education President Carol Molnar, Director of Alumni Relations Amy Hansen and Student Government President Ava Wheeler.

Elected officials also took time out of their mornings to attend and present proclamations recognizing this historic milestone. The celebration continued with Clay’s alma mater, a centennial video, guided campus tours and the announcement that Clay is now home to the largest mural in any public school in Ohio!

One message from the morning captured the spirit of the entire celebration: You didn’t have to graduate from Clay to be an Eagle. And, of course, once an Eagle, always an Eagle.

Strong schools are essential to strong communities and strong local economies. For an entire century, Clay High School has educated, inspired and prepared generations of students who have gone on to lead, serve, create, compete, build businesses and give back right here in Oregon and far beyond it.

The energy in the room made it clear how Clay reached its first 100 years—and the students, educators and leadership present today showed exactly why its next 100 will be just as bright.

One hundred years of tradition. One hundred years of family. One hundred years of community. Congratulations, Clay High School! 🦅

Northwest Ohio employers — this is one to know about.

JobsOhio and the Regional Growth Partnership have announced the new JobsOhio Technician Path, an incentive designed to help Ohio employers build their skilled technician pipeline through earn-and-learn training.

Eligible employers can receive up to $10,000 per employee who completes an approved training pathway, with funding tied to milestones throughout the process.

To qualify, employers must be located in Ohio, operate within a JobsOhio targeted industry sector and pay participating employees at least $20/hour.

Even better, employers don't have to navigate the process alone. The Advanced Manufacturing Consortium will serve as the regional concierge for Northwest Ohio, helping companies identify training pathways and education partners, establish programs and navigate the incentive process.

Workforce continues to be one of the biggest conversations we have with employers. Programs like this give companies another tool to invest in their people, develop talent from within and create pathways into the skilled careers our region needs.

OEDF Winter Coat Drive

OEDF is proud to serve as an Oregon community collection partner for this year’s Winter Coat Drive with A Space Away!

We’re collecting new and gently used coats of all sizes to help make sure our neighbors stay warm this winter.

We’d love for our investors and community partners to get involved, too! If your business or office would like to serve as a collection location, we can coordinate having a collection box dropped off to you.

We’re also looking to connect with local organizations that could benefit from receiving coats. If you know an organization serving families or individuals in need, please reach out so we can help make that connection.

A coat sitting in a closet could mean a much warmer winter for someone in our community. ❤️

We’re bringing our business community together for coffee and conversation at ProMedica Bay Park Hospital! ☕️

OEDF is excited to partner with the Eastern Maumee Bay Chamber of Commerce for a morning with Matt Hammond, President of ProMedica Bay Park Hospital and ProMedica Wildwood Orthopaedic and Spine Hospital.

We’ll hear what’s happening at Bay Park, get updates from across ProMedica, and talk about what healthcare looks like in our region today — with plenty of opportunity to ask questions and connect directly with local healthcare leadership.

OEDF had a great time at the Glass City Wranglers Golf Outing — supporting an organization that brings a whole lot of energy, entertainment and pride to Northwest Ohio.

100 works of art. One big investment in the places we call home. 🎨

OEDF is excited to support 100 Works of Art and the creativity they’re bringing across Northwest Ohio. Projects like this add something to our region that you can’t measure in square footage or job numbers — they make our communities more interesting, more memorable and more ours.
