It’s been SO long since I’ve posted! Busy season working through the holidays in Orlando… But here we are! The exterior of the house is being finished up, or as I like to say “dialed in” today!

Over the last couple of months Jason and I have built the interior walls, insulated the walls and ceiling, dug and installed the septic system, plumbed the house and irrigation, tiled and finished the outdoor shower, extended the fence, finished the electrical and helped the landscapers create a tropical oasis!

The interior now has drywall, paint, and shower liners up! We got distracted by the exterior work this week but are headed back inside to tile showers next! Can’t wait to show you more soon!!!! 💕

A lot has happened in the last month! It’s been full of activity here at the Dockside hangar! Jason and I decided after numerous outrageous quotes to spend my days off installing the peel and stick, as well as the roof steel ourselves. Although it felt impossible at the time, I’m so glad we did! It took a little more time but we saved a lot of money. And we also know it was well done and every screw is perfectly placed! Proud of myself with that project as I do not love heights and carrying 23ft heavy panels on a high roof in 100 degree heat was a little frightening.

After the Roofing was complete we moved into the hangar to try and get this portion done next. Jason finished bracing and framing the attic, building the stub wall for the electrical and laundry, and painted the inside block white. Then, we spent the next couple days building a mezzanine for all the “junk” (stuff) to live on shelves out of sight and now we are onto hangar door installation! Lots more finish work inside but the hangar is well on its way to completion!

This man is SO talented and has figured out cleaver ways to do most of this work himself while I am off working full time. He’s truly remarkable and I am so lucky!

TRUSSES!!!! ❤️ that’s the positive….

This build process has proved to be more difficult than previous builds as we’re learning it’s hard to find help in Florida that will actually show up. And that’s the negative. 👎

Last couple of weeks we finished the walls on the hangar and got the steel beams in place for the lifts. Progress is slow, but steady here in Florida as it starts to turn into HOT summer! ❤️

House is fully blocked, hangar is more than half way up. Slight pause to pour the walls up to here with concrete and then they should finish the hangar up early next week! And as you can see, trusses are here and ready to go up!!! So fun to watch the progress start to really show! 😍

It’s a beautiful morning to see some walls going up!

Last week was filled with trenches, plumbing, electrical conduit, backfilling and compacting. Although the crazy wind and rain storms tried to slow us down, we were able to get it all ready to go. Masons return today to do final set up for concrete!

Monday morning update! Stem walls are complete and Jason was able to backfill the house this weekend so we can start plumbing this morning. He has a love/hate relationship with plumbing so wish me luck 😂

Exciting day!!! Progress… (insert deep breathe here). ☺️
