TR Guest Ranch

TR Guest Ranch Ogden has a history of honoring US Presidents with street names, but there is no Roosevelt Street.

Ogden has a history of honoring US Presidents by naming streets after them, but there is no street named for Theodore Roosevelt. The TR GUEST RANCH is named in honor of President Theodore Roosevelt, a great champion of natural places and vigorous outdoor pursuits, and incidentally one of the few sitting Presidents to actually visit Ogden. TR's only known visit to Ogden was in 1903 during his famou

s western trip that included stops in Yellowstone, Yosemite (with John Muir) and the Grand Canyon. Although members of the extended Malan clan have been known to claim that Teddy Roosevelt once visited their family hotel in Malan's Basin (now part of the TR GUEST RANCH), there is no hard evidence that this really happened. This particular Malan Family Story remains in the category of "well, if it ain't true, then it ought to be."
