Traveling with an autistic child can require a little extra preparation, but that doesn't mean your family can't have an incredible vacation.
As both an autism mom and a Certified Autism Travel Professional, one of the biggest things I've learned is that a successful family vacation doesn't have to look like anyone else's.
Prepare for unfamiliar experiences, bring the things that help your child feel comfortable, schedule downtime, research available accommodations, and most importantly give your family permission to travel at your own pace.
Sometimes the best decision you can make is skipping something on the itinerary and taking a break.
Save this carousel for your next family vacation, or send it to another family who might find it helpful.
