I'm currently in the ICU at Mercy Hospital in Roseburg. It's been an interesting past few days.
Thursday - Tip of my nose was sore.
Friday - It got worse, swelling, sensitive, and more pain.
Saturday - Went to the OSU football game to watch our son play in the OSUMB. Even more worse. Swelling around my eyes, nose, cheeks, upper lip, sensitive/pain all around.
Sunday (yesterday) - More worse and I was at the hospital for like 5hrs. They did a CT scan with dye to make sure no infection got to my brain. Put me on meds and we left.
Monday (today) - 3am, I woke up and my tongue was kinda swollen. For about 7yrs, I've been dealing with random face and limbs swelling. A VERY long story, but I've seen many doctors, specialists, many poking tests, blood tests, etc, etc. They can't find out why. Nothing I ate, no change in diet, nothing in the air, no change in detergent, soaps, deodorants, etc, etc. The only thing that seems to help with the swelling is steroids, so my primary doctor prescribes me Prednisone to take as needed when I randomly swell up. I took 20mg around 3:30 and it got worse this time. I woke my wife up around 5am and she rushed me to the hospital this is the worse that it's ever gotten and I wasn't able to control it by myself. My tongue, throat, neck, etc all swelled up so much, that the only way for me to breathe was to hold my head back, put my hands on my head, and slowly breath. They said my throat hole was maybe the size of a pencil. They gave me 2 shots of epinephrine, 1 inhaler epinephrine, lots if steroid injections, lots of antihistamine injections, etc, etc. They wanted to stick a tube down my throat, but the swelling finally went down. They said they would have 1min after my throat closed all the way to put the tube in me, after that, they'd have to cut open my esophagus in my neck so I could breathe. I got lucky! And now, I'm in the ICU. They don't want me to leave till tomorrow afternoon at the very earliest. Lots of monitoring, tests, injections, and meds.
Again, I've been dealing with random swelling & rashes on my face & limbs for at least 7yrs now. Sometimes it'll be a few years before it happens again. Sometimes it'll happen multiple times in 2wks. Seen MANY doctors, specialist, blood test, skin tests, etc, etc. No rhyme or reasoning for it.
Not trying to freak anyone out, just wanted to let people know what's going on with me and why I won't be working til probably Thursday or Friday. I appreciate my customers for your understanding. 😇🙏🏽
Thank you to my wonderful wife, Jill, for hauling ass to the hospital! She must love me a lot because she wants to keep me alive, even with the nice life insurance policy I have on me. 🤣❤️
