Norwalk Sailing School Norwalk Sailing School was founded in the early 1960's and now offers kayak, SUP, and sailing rental Open every summer from Memorial Day through Labor Day.

The NORWALK SMALL CRAFT SAFETY TRAINING PROGRAM (dba Norwalk Sailing School) was founded in the early 1960’s to provide safe and fun sailing instruction. Today we continue to offer community programs and bring generations of greater Norwalk area residents safely into the sport of sailing and windsurfing. Facilities are located at Calf Pasture Beach in East Norwalk, directly on Long Island Sound.

Beginner, Progressive and Advanced Levels.

What do we teach?

Solid fundamentals:
-parts of boat, knots, point of sails,
rigging
basic maneuvering: steering, tacking, jibing, capsize, -beach launches and landings
-practicing Crew and Skipper roles

-We sail to Norwalk Islands as a fleet getting to practice navigation and sailing skills studied as a combined group

-Water Play on hot days:
Paddleboards, capsize and water ball games

-Land games and sailing trivia during thunderstorms

Sailing Instructor training for ages 15+ to adult

Our Spring wind conditions are perfect to fall in love with a new outdoors vocation. Get on the water and out of your comfort zone while everyone's daydreaming about chill summer days!

Wind, sea, and a drive for excellence in outdoor sports education

Learn how to become a sailing instructor and confidently teach theory and practice to youth and adults.

8 class meets of 3 hour long sessions for a total of 24 hours of instruction training. Includes all the modalities to become an effective and professional sailing instructor. Prepares for First Level Teaching Certification.

Open to motivated individuals 15+ of age with sailing experience. Scheduling available for weekdays or weekends within chosen two week time frame.

*Zero to Hero available for motivated brand new to sailing individuals by combining Beginner Sailing I and II and instructor training program*

We offer an array of sports and activities you and your crew can experience on the beautiful waters around Calf Pasture Beach and Norwalk Islands.
